There is no reason to not have something someone likes just because someone else does not like it. If someone skipped doing something because they were either too lazy or just plain didn't enjoy it enough to bother then sorry 'boo hoo cry me a river' it would be their fault for not doing it. It is no reason why it shouldn't or couldn't have an impact of some kind even if small. To shoot down this idea based on someone couldn't be bothered to do it is annoying and spiteful.

Amen.

I wonder what the collection missions (Turian emblems, minerals, Asari writings, Prothean relics, etc) will do to impact the game.

If they seriously have an impact in ME3, I will be very pissed off. Who seriously wasted their time to look at every planet and scanned it just so they could complete those dumb sidequests. Especially the minerals one, that must have taken hours to complete.

From scanning planets and driving the mako on landable planets would take forever just to find all the minerals. If they have even the slightest impact, I will flip out.

Personally, I think it'd be an excellent reward to players who took all the time (like me; I got all the Assignment missions done) to get those finished. After all, the devs said that you'd really have to go out of your way in ME3 to defeat the Reapers and get an "immaculate" ending.

To those who did the tedious sidequests: your ONLY motivation was seeing repercussions in another game?

I did them because I loved exploring the planets. I didn't actually think there would be repercussions in the other games.

Plus, every time my Shepard drove up a very steep mountain or the Mako crashed down, I always imagined my squadmates facepalming at her poor driving.

Yes, I'm weird.

Similar rationale here. I guess we're both weird then.

Who cares what is said on Twitter ?

Why dont you just stop "playing" your fan base and get on with making the god damn game.

Full stop.

......who the hell said they're not working on the game? It takes like 10 seconds to post something on Twitter. They're not machines, they're human beings you know, who need time to relax just like any other employee.

Get off your high horse.

I, personally, wouldn't care if they included them or not.

I took the time to get them, yes, but if they didn't include some sort of payoff for the tedious quests, I'd still be fine with it. Granted, my hopes still remain in that they will somehow boost the loyalty of the salarians, turians, alliance military, and asari when you collect the tags, badges, mining, and matriarch writings.

OCD should NOT be rewarded. You get your useless virtual merit badge for doing dumb crap like that, and that's enough. There's no need to punish all of the sane people out there who don't want to waste 20 hours of their life tediously looking for mineral deposits, time much better spent playing the ACTUAL game.

Don't punish me by holding back content because I don't have mental health issues. The only thing the fetch quests should net you in ME3 is an E-Mail from Hackett reminding you that the Reaper threat is imminent and begging you not to waste precious time on frivolous fetch quests like you did during the Saren incident.

"Shepard... we were very lucky last time, Saren nearly found the conduit and ended galactic civilization, who knows how many lives could have been spared had you focused on your mission and gotten to Ilos that much sooner rather than wasting countless precious hours driving around in the Mako scanning rocks. Please Shepard, the stakes are much higher now, I'm begging you to stay focused this time... - Hackett."

Something about the hostility of this post...is rubbing me in all the wrong places. Must be the 9+ Shepard's I've completed with all mineral deposits and quests completed...curse my OCD!

Regardless, I don't think finding all the emblems and tags and resources carries over to ME2 anyway.

I hate fetch quests, they're useless play time padding, and they're NEVER fun.

These people must get off their high horses. Some of us did find all of the collectibles, and enjoyed it. And for the whole with holding content thing, if you did the quest you should get something for it. It's basically saying that even though you didn't buy Kasumi, you still expect to get her for free.

That's where my idea of the Hackett "please don't waste time like that again" E-mail comes in. You get your acknowledgment, and I don't get punished if I don't replay ME1 & 2 again while also slogging through some of the worst filler ever shoved in a video game. It's win-win!

I agree we're off-topic at this point but this is such a humorous thing to see people get upset over, really. I guess I'll just sit in the weird group that liked exploring and getting some extra xp for it, anything more would be extra gravy on the bacon. Mm bacon..

Hey any cool tweets today?

I think adding lore and small background quests for those who did all the gathering missions is entirely appropriate.  If you didn't do them, then your story isn't impacted and you can continue avoiding the tediousness of said quests by hitting up the wiki for the added lore.

Elitism at it's finest.

How is that elitism?

Because since he found it boring and annoying, he expects Bioware to cater to him and make it have no impact, basically screwing over the ones that did take the time to look for them.

I didn't complete the medals or the writtings sidequest I didn't even find all the prothean data that I was looking for ( and no I won't use a guide to find these things cuz that's cheating) yet I think they should have impact.

I was actually looking forward to the writtings having an impact though I only found 4 at best. If BW does you need to have all of them to get a secret weapon or get the location of something decent then I'd be for that even though I'd technically miss out it would add to the world not mess with something established.
