OCD should NOT be rewarded. You get your useless virtual merit badge for doing dumb crap like that, and that's enough. There's no need to punish all of the sane people out there who don't want to waste 20 hours of their life tediously looking for mineral deposits, time much better spent playing the ACTUAL game.
Don't punish me by holding back content because I don't have mental health issues. The only thing the fetch quests should net you in ME3 is an E-Mail from Hackett reminding you that the Reaper threat is imminent and begging you not to waste precious time on frivolous fetch quests like you did during the Saren incident.
Think the obvious problem with this post, which means it deserves the heat, isn't that he says those side quests were a waste of time. It is that he loads that with a bit of old fashioned mental health abuse
Oh, and abuse of OCD sufferers aside, I don't think giving playersd who complete something a reward is by definition a punishment to those players who didn't complete it and as such don't get that reward. No way would that reward have a significant impact on the game, it would just be a way of acknowledging that they put that time into the game
To get a lvl 60 character I think you HAVE to do a second playthrough with the same character, but I didn't hear opposition to the idea that ME1 imports with a lvl 60 character gets points over a lvl 30 character (nor the idea that those who did two playthroughs had OCD and therefore needed to be punished!)

its just sad that all that effort is by the end of the game, irrelevant.
I mean, the codex says a lot of things, it says this and that about asaris, turians, and other peoples but do we EXPERIENCE it?
No.

Yeah it's a shame that all the extra stuff written by Tolkien in his appendices and such is irrelevant, it added nothing to that universe and should have just been 'shown' so that we could 'experience' it.
You really think we could somehow have experienced everything discussed in the Codex in these three games? The codex is there to add flavour to and expand upon things we have discovered and experienced, and more importantly to tell us about things that would never have been fit into the game otherwise. It is an optional resource to add to the richness of the ME universe the writers and other devs have created, and to grant fans a deeper understanding of the way things work - even when we would otherwise have no reason to find out about it in the course of the game.
The codex isn't irrelevant, it's a neccesity.

@Virtigo Can you ask them (I don't think it's been asked before) if we will see Mark Meer make any appearances, either at some convention or on Bioware TV or something? We've seen a lot of Jennifer Hale, which is great don't get me wrong, but I'm interested in what Meer has to say as well.
Yeah you hardly every see anything with him in it when they do the behind scenes stuff kinda odd hey lol.

Yeah, like those ****ing books! What are we, pre-schoolers? Do we need to practice our goddamned ABCs?! How utterly juvenile! Burn them all I say! Information in an optional static medium? What sort of kiddy **** is this! THAT **** IS FOR BABIES.

Well, that's a completely unrealistic expectation. You could never cover everything in the Codex via playable sequences. However, in this specific instance, you can be accomodated to an extent: go play Admiral Ahern's special scenario at Pinnacle Station. There you go: a small but playable part of the FCW.

Look guy, its understandable you don't like reading and by extension, using your imagination, however touches like the Codex add to the immersion of the game universe. For those of us that were born before the XBro generation, reading is a fundamental skill required to experience amazing stories.
To think, the first RPG's were only 8 bit image followed by a textbook's worth of writing.
