It's all coming together now, isn't it? And they have plenty of time to thoroughly test and pretty it all up. Stay on target, Bioware :)

Loving the comment about doing more with Insanity's scaling.

Does it really take 4 months to polish a game though?  I hope that the release date gets moved up a little.

You could almost polish a game forever, honestly. Most of the games which are considered well polished could've had more if they were given a few more months, it's interesting how much can be done in that time.

My patience for delayed games has disappeared pretty much due to waiting 3 years for Spore only to have it be an utter disappointment on all fronts.

"Will there be any penalty to trying to use the [omni]blade at an inappropriate time?”

"Yep, enemies won't wait around."

I remember a demo where the player tried to omni-blade two Guardians. Didn't work out very well for him. Cerberus operatives have stun rods and they are going to use them.

This.

Although there has to come a point where you just stick to your guns and release the product. That's where setting deadlines (and sticking closely to them) becomes very important. I still can't believe DAO feels rushed in a couple of places, given how long that was in development, but there you go.

If you want it to look good, avoid glitches, balance the mechanics, and incorporate the audio and visual effects? Easily.

Remember that 'fire team' trailer? That's what most of the game would look like now, at best.

"Doing my tenth run as of yesterday. Infiltrator on insanity. Very fun but I want to add some different scaling other than health."

Please do! Insanity on ME1 was just....enemies with butt loads of health. Make it an awesome challenge! Enemies who try to flank as often as possible - maybe include more enemies on insanity too!

Jacob is the closest to a vanguard squaddie in ME2.

Well I agree with you there.  I still say squadmate classes are no longer relevant.  They mattered in ME1, but in ME2 it's more about who does well on what mission, against what enemies.

It's not: "I'm facing Collectors, I better bring an adept with me."

It's more like: "I'm facing Collectors.  Who has Warp?"

Don't forget Jack. Jack has both Pull and Shockwave, her loyalty power is biotic ammo (adept + soldier, like a Vanguard), at least tried a Charge-like punch in a cutscene, also has a shotty and heavy pistol and one of her Rank4 passives is "Primal Vanguard".

Although I entirely agree - it's more about what a squaddie can do that benefits you in a particular mission than which class they borrow the most from for ME2.

This isn't ME3 related but Sam Hulick just released two unused ME1 soundtracks...one is from a DLC that never got released (Ghost Ship):

twitter.com/#!/SamHulick/status/112689506062311424
"It's out! A digital album of my last two ME1 unused tracks: http://xfer.me/13 - thru September 50% of proceeds go to @CPCharity - retweet!!"

Direct Link to each:
Of Stars and Dreams
Ghost Ship

As it says 50% of profits go to charity so I figured I'd post it here.

Too Human, anyone? On the other hand, you've got games like Alan Wake that, while are perhaps not necessarily "worth the wait", are of the highest quality and leave you satisfied with your purchase rather than regretting it.

Or even a more general "I'm facing Collectors. Who has biotics?"

No, because what you're looking to do is strip barriers when fighting Collectors.  Warp is the best way to do that, so you specifically want someone in the squad who has it.  And most of the other biotic abilties aren't really useful until you've stripped those barriers.

I agree, didymos. The tech/biotic/combat labels don't account for the variety among squadmates. I wouldn't want just "biotic" squadmates against the Collectors, because that could include Morinth and even a disloyal Jack. I'd probably want Miranda, Thane, or loyal Samara.
