Nor can I.

I was sceptical before -- now I'd say it's downright incorrect.

I still can't see that the DLCs covers over 15k  of ME2 dialogs.

I think it's closer to 500.

Not really. Overlord didn't have a lot of dialogue, and neither did Kasumi or Zaeed's loyalty missions. LoTSB had slightly more than those, but not a lot either. I can tell you that the story DLC content did not add an additional 15k lines of dialogue. A lot of the lines in the DLC's were automated responses, thus reducing the amount of optional dialogue which most likely accounts for the majority of the dialogue in the game. (optional responses and different outcomes based on that response). So in short, the DLC's didn't have that much dialogue. There wasn't much said, except for LoTSB.

I don't know, it kind of depends on what you think is dialogue. In Kasumi's Loyalty mission for example you have the briefing before the mission all of Hock's dialogue, there were also a lot of guests at his party and background chatter ( for example the girl discussing Arcangel's activity in Omega ), dialogue for the guard to Hock's quarters, Kasumi's dialogue and then Shepard's not to mention all the dialogue choices included for recrruiting Kasumi at the Citadel, her dialogue on the Normandy, Kelly's dialogue about Kasumi when you first recruit her as well as Jokers comments on her. It might not be all that much on it's own but it does add up. Do The same for Zaeed, all the dialogue for Overlord, Arrival, Firewalker pack ( Dr Aloy's assistant leaves a few audio logs ).

The rain in Arrival was a nice change of pace but I don't think you get to fight in that either (unless you don't care about the stealth bit).

Not sure if consoles would choke on it, though. Probably uses up lots of resources.

I'd still love to get into a fight on a desert planet and have a dust storm kick up and obscure the fight. Or rain/snow on a tropical/snow planet. Just for the sake of variety and to remove the amount of chest-high walls.

Yeah, that reminds me of BF Bad Company 2 in the “Sangre de Toro” missions where the whirling dust made very difficult to see the enemies. Great ambiance work by Dice.

Either way, ME3 is having the same if not more dialogue than ME2.

In either scenarios, I'm happy. :wizard:

Wait.

ME2 had over 25k lines, but with DLC's it hits almost 40k?
That's not possible.
ME2 DLC's didn't had that much content.

I'm not an expert in such things, may it be that 25k refers to lines actually used in game and 40k refers to all recorded lines (25k used + unused but present on disc + unused which even didn't get on discs)?

But 3/8 recorded lines which doesn't used sound strange as well:?

40,000!!!

Best news in a long time!:wizard:

Thanks to Vertigo_1 for keeping us updated in this, and so many other threads!:)

40,000? But that's...it's...IT"S OVER 9,000!

When I first saw the number I was like, "IT's OVER thirty-9000!!"

Also, the DLC does have a lot of lines in it because there are NPC's in them that have lines, and Kasumi and Zaeed have reactions to many of the main game's missions.  It seems that people are forgetting to take into account all the talking the people at, say, the party Kasumi takes you to are doing, etc.

Ah, but if this means that they're recording the audio for the DLC...I am extremely happy. I was tired of huge conflicts like Overlord, the temple of Kopis, and Lair of the Shadow Broker being completely silent. Our squad members need to be more engaged in the world.

So, any news if there will be anything major for ME3 at GameFest/EurogamerExpo?

No, I've asked Silverman if he or anyone from BiowareTV will be there but no response so far...

They haven't made any official announcement about it...yet
So far it seems just Mac Walters and Drew Karpyshyn are headed to NYCC

That tweet did surprise me b/c I’ve been monitoring NYCC website and neither Bioware, nor EA are listed as exhibitors.

Well so far it's only in reference to their works (books, comics)...not ME3
Meaning, just because those two are coming doesn't mean that EA/Bioware are exhibitors there

I think it's closer to 500.

If you want some stats:

Base ME2 Game:  32,463
Zaeed: 550
Firewalker: 117
Kasumi: 875
Overlord: 480
Lair: 1,547
Arrival: 853
Genesis: 193

Total Number Of Dialogue Files: 37,078

This includes the cut dialogue, male/female Shep versions of the same lines, and non-verbal stuff like Shep/squadmate reactions to injury and death, so dock a few thousand off the total.  Keep in mind that the way they count lines doesn't necessarily translate into how they break it down into individual files when packaging stuff for release.  The playing time of the files varies wildly, some being less than a second long, while others are well over ten seconds.

If it's just about ME comics, then EA/BioWare most likely won't be 'officially' there and will just present new ME comic series through Dark Horse booth/panels.
