I'm pretty sure they got the memo that most people don't like Kaidan.

Love when some people think what they think is the universal truth. Not to mention as BioWare said "we design the characters to be loved by some, not all". And even if some character is loved by many/most, like Tali, it doesn't mean that character is great, like Tali. And finally, LOL at people jumping at the Vega bandwagon now.

I'm done ^_^

Kaidan's awesome. I think Vega will be awesome too. :)

This. Kaidan was my first Mass Effect romance, I can't help but like him! Vega's popularity spike is amusing though, given how much stick he got early on. I'll be interested to see just how much popularity he gains before release, or whether he won't be able to escape those initial impressions completely.

I just love his face in that CE picture, from that my admiration of him just blossomed in some twisted fashion.

you know the ironic thing, if they were to make up a character from some magic substance that makes the character a copy of the player, there will still be some people who don't like the character lol. Do not even attempt to please everyone. Let them put together their own epic space opera of awesomeness

I would pay too see something like Virmire situation agian. Save Liara or Miranda.
Bioware: problem, fans?

And that's exactly why I don't want new Virmire to happen. Death of characters should be meaningful, and I fully approve "death based on Shepard's previous decisions, or Shepard forced to stop squadmate trying to prevent Shepard from doing anything, but Virmire is "death via popularity contest". Let's see: in example you provided I'd have to choose between char I rate 1/10 and char I rate 10/10. Depth? Emotions? Hardly. In this way tragic experience turns into "way to get rid of character", which is nothing close to intention of situation.

True that. And then there's people who complain just to complain, or jump on the bandwagon. I could easily say I hate Vega, but I don't know a single thing about him so I'd just come off as an idiot.
Plus, I adore Kaidan. I fail to see how he's so boring...

Would be interesting if this supposed Virmire 2.0 is where Liara's plot armor finally becomes penetrable...

I loved Kaiden in ME1. I used him the most out of all squad mates combined.

"What is your favorite mission from either ME1 or ME2?"

For me it was:
ME1: Virmire (except the part where you chose between Kaidan and Ashley)
ME2: Suicide Mission hands down

Being ignored/hated by many doesn't make Kaidan that great of a character either.^_^

Popularity isn't a measure of quality.

See how negative/mixed reaction was to the good the bad and the ugly, 2001: A Space Odyessy, The Shining, Blade Runner etc upon release.

Kaidan could've used a little bit more detail, but his character is deeper then most people suspect, and it annoys me when people call him a "whiner" when he's actually probably the least whiny squadmate.

ME1: Virmire and ME1 endgame.
ME2. Suicide mission and LOTSB.

Althrough if they ask from a gameplay standpoint. I would also have to add Haestorm.

I tweeted Samara's recruitment mission- great cutscenes, awesome action, and lots of different enemies.  The environmental effect didn't hurt either.  I love variety.

Very true. Some people are prejudiced against Vega just because the way he looks. The guy hasn’t open his mouth or done anything, yet there were people calling him meathead/brain-dead

You forgot the constant accusations of steroid use.  Apparently it's impossible to reach Vega's level of musculature without steroids.  Even in the future.

ME1: Noveria. the whole intrigue to get the garage pass was facinating
ME2: Tali's recruiting mision. Loved the fight against the Geth Colosus. Toughest fight of the game IMO

Yeah that too, I didn’t want to go on the list of what was said (written). And I can tell you from personal experience you can reach that level without steroids. Just a little bit of dedication

ME1: Illos and the End Run
ME2: a toss-up between Legion: a House Divided, the Suicide Mission, or Lair of the Shadow Broker. I really enjoyed the feel and atmosphere of Legion's mission.

For both, the final levels. The rest of the games could be boring as hell and it'd still be worth it for that last hour.

Nothing from ME1 pops out to me. ME2 has several that would be good candidates for favorite mission, but I am going to go with the LotSB missions. Seeing Liara always brightens my mood in my games. That and Tali's recruitment and loyality missions are the ones I do as soon as they become available.

Mordin's Loyalty Mission was a great example of combining storytelling and character development with combat; both were interspersed cleverly throughout the level. I feel that this makes the combat more exciting when it's not just a long slag of fighting the same enemies over and over again, and it also keeps the game going at a faster pace by not being weighed down by lengthy cut scenes and dialogue too much.

The Suicide Mission, namely assigned squad mates to different tasks, was also very enjoyable.
