I know, I don't like the idea of them being treated like they're the same person. They aren't interchangeable.

"Cloak is lot more useful now. You are able to toggle it off at will which shortens the cooldown. Nice synergy with big slow guns."
As an Infiltrator at heart, I find this intriguing...
Big slow guns? I hope infiltrators finally get some sort of assassinate ability, like Thane in cutscenes or Kasumi (Shadow strike?)... I want some sneaky assassin style gameplay, not Big Slow Guns like a Heavy.

It makes sense that they'd be issued the same armor, considering that they both get the same job. It doesn't make them interchangeable at all.
Now on with the rejoicing. YAY FOR ARMORED CHICKS <3
Also I'm vaguely ashamed for not having faith in BW. I knew they were going to put Ash in proper armor, but some small part of me kept whispering chainmail bikini... I blame the Bioboards.

I am curious about the squad memeber tweet. The main reason why I am so skeptical about ME3 is because I'm not sure how they will do justice to all the ME1 squadmates, ME2 squadmates and the new ME3 squadmates when ME3 is supposed to have a smaller squad than ME2 had. Like most people I assumed that ME3 would have a rotating squad and that most characters would be releagated to cameos or guest squad members for specific missions, needless to say I was not happy with this arrangement since I felt as if Bioware was taking away one of the most imporatant choices I could make in the game, the ability to choose my own squad.

You are on to something here. I think you will get to choose your squad, and believe it will work like this:
You will start with your basic squad as in the first two games. Since there is a chance most of your team died in the SM, the game will start you with people we know for sure are alive, in this case VS + Vega. There is your basic squad. Then, when you escape Earth, you get to choose if Liara – who we know is alive – will join your team or remain as the SB. After that, there will be a number of spots to fill in your team (I think 4 – 5) that you will fill with your choice among whoever is left alive. This leave whoever you don’t choose to be temp squad mates for specific missions.

Sounds like this is going to be some kind of indictment. A formal accusaton, lots of testimony given to try and establish if a crime took place and an actual trial is warranted.

I agree. Hence why I'm not convinced this will be the case. The developers keep tweeting how happy they are to be working with a smaller squad than we had in ME2 because it opens up the opportunity for all sorts of banter. If they're technically working with more permanent squadmate possibilities than ever I can't see them having such a fun, easier time getting all that wonderful dialogue implemented.

Also it is completely pointless because that way all the squad members still have to be developed as full squad members and the only effect would be a smaller squad selection screen. But the resources for squad members would still needed to be divided on over more than a dozen NPCs resulting in the ME2 situation of squad members being mostly silent during missions and hardly ever reacting to the plot going on around them.Fiery Phoenix wrote...

I know, I don't like the idea of them being treated like they're the same person. They aren't interchangeable.
I think I understand now.
What we kept seeing was the CE varient outifit for Ash and Kaiden. Even when Ash was wearing her blue jacket, and Kaiden was wearing his blue Alliance gear, they were varients.
Hence, I conclude that Kaiden actually has the male equivalent of Ash's jacket, and vice versa. It makes sense, because as an adept, Kaiden wouldn't wear heavy gear, while Ash probably would prefer to wear armor.
So the alternative costumes are just othersquad mate costumes on certain characters. I'm okay with this.
