Vega is described as a younger, less experienced Shepard at the totally-realistic age of 26. Meanwhile, most of those damn JRPGs' 'wise older mentors' were 26.

Ah, just gets me waxing goddamn nostalgic again. Those damn Squaresoft JRPGs from the late 90s (love them to death as I do) got ages so unbelievably messed-up and this just helps me to remember that.

Talk about culture gap...

I'll still say it 'til the end of time, I love some of those games. Replay them often. Not so much with many of the newer ones and I'll avoid going into rant central as to why.
But man, when I was eleven I thought it was kind of silly that a guy like Zidane Tribal was 16. Now I'm 24 and... gee.

And 15 during the blitz. It would be interesting if you had the war hero backstory, and the reason vega joined the military was because of you.JeffZero wrote...

^ That'd be creepy almost like Verner creepy. I really hope I don't walk into Vega's room and see posters of me with cheesy super hero slogans.
Well, they've said he used to idolize Shepard. Which tells me he's probably sold the posters in angst.

My guess is Vega is probably a batarian bleedheart.

He'd take him under his wing. And then crush him with it. VEGA CRUSH.

or a he hates Cerberus. Jacob, when you first meet him, mentions that most Alliance soldiers hate Cerberus on principle. Ash/Kaidan certainly gave Shep a hard time about it. Either one (or both) is plausible I suppose.
