"A new build of ME3 brings all sorts of improvements over the last. Art, music, sound... Everything gets better each time. @masseffect"

"If I missed out on certain weapons in #ME2 (Revenant or Widow), will I get a 2nd chance at them in #ME3?"

"Yep all of the weapons you missed from ME2 can be found during the course of #ME3"

They've already confirmed in the past that we can pretty much have any combination of weapons that we want provided our class allows us to equip that many.

Imagine Shepard lugging around the Claymore and Revenent, he'd be moving like a slug from all that weight he's carrying.

they did mention a penalty for carrying all the special weapons...maybe you run slower or they reinstate running fatigue? (since I think it's confirmed that you can run all day errday in ME3)

Well someone asked this for soldier class but:

I think the consequences will be like Shepard won't be able to running or dodging.

Maybe those 'big' weapons take up more weapon slots on Shepard's back? Meaning Revenant + Widow = No heavy weapons? He's talking about consequences and I can't imagine a soldier caring about not being able to carry a small pistol/smg when he's got the Revenant AND Widow with him.

I think the consequences will be like Shepard won't be able to running or dodging.

Seems logical now that I think about it...

Consequences immediately makes me think:
Down one corridor is your injured love interest. Down the other corridor is a brand new Widow rifle. Both rooms are on fire. Choose wisely.

No, I doubt it will be like that, more like the way the Soldier is built in ME3 there will be more variety and specialisation so say, one build might  be much better for a Claymore soldier yet another for a Revenant, etc.

They call it the "Widow" for a reason.

That is silly. You can carry a Mattock and a Widow AND A CAIN, but making the Mattock a Revenant all of a sudden results in too much weight?

The Widow alone weighs 39 kilograms or 85 pounds so I think the Revenant and the Claymore would feel like paperclips compared to that rifle.

...Is that...is that an official number? That is completely ridiculous...Unless the thing is solid lead. It isn't physically that big, and its modern day equivilent, the Barrett M107, weighs something like 30 pounds...and I would think a mass effect powered gun would be lighter if anything.

It's accurate.  Though to be fair, the Widow is not designed to be used by a single human.  And it's actually meant to be more of an antivehicle weapon.

It's stated somewhere in the game that the Widow isn't meant to be used to by ordinary humans or conventional soldiers anyway. Shepard is able to use it thanks to whatever implants Timmy might have put into her.

Also, Iakus is correct. The Widow isn't really an anti-personnel weapon to begin with.

It's used to take down krogans, though.

Krogans are quite something. :D

It's obviously inspired by the real-life equivalents, such as the Barrett .50cal or the South African monster the NTW 20. Anti-personnel work is by no means a primary function of these rifles; they're used almost exclusively for disabling enemy vehicles and equipment. Because, you know, shooting a human target with a BMG round would be a total overkill. Not to mention it wouldn't result in a very nice corpse.
