This is pretty random, but can somebody ask them about "placeholders" for dead squadmates? I was just watching some old E3 gameplay (the segment with Mordin and the female krogan) when a horrible thought came to mind: If Mordin died in ME2, will there be a generic STG salarian in his place? Or will the entire mission change? I think option #1 would be super lame...

There was a tweet via Patrick Weekes private account back when it wasn't private:

He basically tweeted that he was in the midst of writing dialogue for the chance that Tali and Legion were both dead for ME3 (during the conflict between quarians and geth section)

I can't get it now that the account is private (not the other one he uses now) but it was posted here for sure (either someone else posted it or I did; don't remember...but I do remember that tweet)

Other than that, devs have mentioned you would lose out on that content or it would be different...vague but that's all I think we will get from them on this considering it would be spoilers (I think) if they said what happens exactly when so and so is dead in ME3.

That said I asked Hudson anyway...wouldn't hold your breath though for an answer...

EDIT: It was also mentioned that there won't be replacements (squadmates) for Garrus and/or Tali if they are dead in ME3

Had to get down to working in ME3 (plus he didn't want to accidentally spoil story elements from ME3 while doing so (someone I know who could still follow him said that awhile ago))...he later said he wanted to put the account to public but it bugged out twitter so instead he created a new account.

It depends on that squadmates' role. As much as possible, I think they'll make it so that you won't see that character's content. But that may not always be possible if there's vital information to convey. So while there won't be any placeholders on the team (confirmed a long time ago), I won't rule out that you'll see placeholders in conversations here and there.

I'm actually intruiged by the prospect. It's a different set of content. Sure, if you do it one way, you miss out on Mordin's dialogue. But, if there is someone else in his place or, better yet, different dialogue, it's different content and I'd like to take a peak at it. I'm very curious how they're going to handle it and I plan on doing an ME2 playthrough were as many people die as possible, and I screw up as many potential alliances as I can, just to see what happens differently.

"I'm kinda hoping there will be more environmental hazards such as on various ME1 planets & Haestrom, for #ME3"

"Hope is a good thing. :)"

So I asked this...I suppose the answer is good?

It can be good as much as it can be bad, really. I hope it's the former, though.

I could’ve sworn I read somewhere (I’m too lazy to look for the source) that in ME3 any class will be able carry any weapon. The caveat is that Shep will have fewer slots for them. There is your penalty. If I remember correctly; the Soldier will have three slots and the rest of the classes will have two plus one for the heavy.
So yeah… you should be able to carry the Revenant and the Widow, but that’s it… no heavy pistol, no SMG or shotgun. So you should be very careful when choosing your load out before leaving for a mission

Err Soldier has 5 slots, other classes have 3 (not inlcuding Heavy Weapon)

Okay, I'm probably just confused.. but that also means that the Soldier's 5 weapon slots do NOT include the heavy weapon, yes?

I'm pretty sure each class has a slot for a heavy weapon.

I hope it's something that's a little more creative than just a hazard that drains your shields or outright kills you.

"Too busy to tweet lately.
We're doing final revisions to systems and GUIs, music iterations, 'dailies' on the beginning and ending... #ME3"

According to the doctors the start of the game is done last, and the ending second to last so that everything that was learned during development of the rest can be appilied to those two since they are the most important parts of a game.

I hope Garrus calibrated the game so we won't be dissapointed with those loading times.

Far more than that. We're 5 months till the release which means they have only about 4 months left for developement (since every game needs to go gold few weeks before premiere in order for physical copies to get manufactured, distributed etc). That means they're wrapping everything up and focusing on final fixes, overall polish & debugging. All systems should be in at this point, all levels, characters etc. They may still need polish, but at this point they I don't think they would be bulding levels/systems from scratch. They may be still recording voice-overs but that's just a matter of putting recorded files in to already existing scenes and most of the VO work is definitely done anyway.
