I'm sorry if I don't treat Mass Effect and the threat of universal destruction like a Disney movie?

But some people will want the Disney ending and they should be accomodated.

Incorrect. Believability should not be sacrificed for the sake of placating the fanbase. That said, I wouldn't mind a Decisive Victory ending (think end of Lord of the Rings), a Complete Disaster ending (the Cycle continues, etc.), and a whole range of endings somewhere in between.

I agree, though in the RofK Gondor suffered heavy losses before the victory, and Theoden and Denethor died.

Right. Significant casualties are to be expected when your homeland is besieged by a massive invasion force.

I suppose they need to maximize their media coverage of the Mark of the Assassin DLC since it comes out next Tuesday.

Reapers go like "argghhhh", and some go like "whoooo", others comment "click click click clack", and the reaper boss' final line is "penis"

I know it's off-topic but: there is a big probability that some main characters will die, but I definitely don't want an unavoidable "Matrix Revolutions-like" ending where Shepard and his/her LI dies, and by the end of the day nothing has really changed. This would be frustrating.
The possibility of SOME beloved characters dying is actually nice, I can imagine something like: (Voice of Nigel Fishnchips) "The galaxy has been saved, costing the lifes of many good friends..." (some video footage of their funerals)... "Shepard has fulfilled his(her) duty... Where did (s)he go after the final battle? Nobody knows... But his(her) name will always be remembered as the saviour of the galaxy... (fades out to the credits)...". After the credits, an extreme light is shown... then, slowly an image becomes visible... It's an old Shepard, in an unknow location staring at the stars... His(her) love interest comes close and hugs him(her)... The LI says: "Do you miss that?" Shepard just stares at the LI with a slight smile... LI: "Lets get inside? I made a delicious dinner...". Kids get around them, and while the image frame gets away, you can hear Shepard saying: "Calm down kids, grandpa(ma) can't hold you all at once anymore..." Camera goes for the stars, some of them shine brighter, ME song taking place in a very powerfull orchestral/choir way... The End!

Cheesy, I know... but would give me that feeling of "Mission Acomplished" AND give me goose bumps.

Sorry for my bad english and for going far away from the topic.

Why's that?

When there's entire planets being harvested, a large percentage of the human population wiped out, most conflicts rising to their boiling point, a galactic invasion which everybody is at risk and more? I don't expect, nor do I want, an ending where Shepard saves everybody and lives happily ever after with the galaxy in harmony.

Sacrifices should be made in the name of protecting the galaxy, not everybody can live to see that "happy ending".

That's fine, but you seem very selfish. You can have your doom and gloom ending, I'd like a victorious, happy ending in my playthrough. There should be multiple different endings. Does that affect you or something?

Yeah somebody's dropping the ball here.  Either the people tweeting are being misinformed, so shame on the misinformants, or the people tweeting are overstepping their confirmed knowledge, in which case they need to just rein it in because it's a little out of control.

Might have been a last minute decision since DA2 DLC should be the spotlight, seeing as how it's coming out soon.

That makes sense.  But what also makes sense in that scenario is them mentioning in the Pulse episode: "I know a lot of you were looking forward to seeing ME3 news in today's episode, but here's the deal..." and then explain the situation.  Completely ignoring the issue is just a little rude.  I know we are a small demographic but we are people too, they could at least be polite.

the problem is that it doesn't make sense...I agree with you in that there should be a happy ending...but that happy ending must come with sacrifice because if the fate of the galaxy rests on Shep gunning down indoctrinated Cerby troopers with no struggle, no sacrifice, where all difficult decisions can just be Paragon'd/Renegade'd away to take the best of both worlds, and nobody dies against a threat of this caliber...it'll just spoil it. It'll spoil the god like image of the Reapers, it'll trivialize the whole situation, it'll make everything seem like "The Power of Friendship/Heart of the Cards" will solve everything no sweat no problem...

In a story like this, people need to die, sacrifices have to be made. This isn't a story about an opposition that is seemingly grand but at the core of it, both the protagonists and antagonists are of equal force...we're fightin GODS. Thousands and thousands of giant Space Robo Cthulhus who can decimate entire cities by sneezing at them. Where just ONE Reaper utterly raped entire fleets without even trying.

Against an enemy like that, a sweet rosy petal ending just can't happen nor should it happen...

However, I do think that there should be a happy ending...in the sense that the Reapers are destroyed, the tattered remains of the civilizations unite together and live on and prosper, they move on to another day with most of our favorite characters live to tell the tale...

I just don't think it's logical to have an ending where there is no sacrifice, there is no pain, there is no sadness, where victory is practically given to us and the only point of playing the missions is to hurry up and see the ending cutscene because we all know we're going to win...

I agree that there should be various ending, and even an happy ending. The fact is that even in the happy ending, it's unrealistic that all survive. Just like it was unrealistic that all the deaths could be avoidable in the SM (and I can't bring myself to kill some squadmates, because the SM was so easy that I didn't lost anyone in my first playtrhough).
I want an happy ending in ME3, but not one that let everyone survive. (though the Earth demo gave me an hint about a character that could die in ME3).

Yes, it does. Dragon Age: Origins had happy endings for some choices, such as Connor and the Werewolves and they absolutely ruined the other choices.

Why bother killing Connor or Isolde when you can have your cake and eat it too? Why bother offering those choices if you're just going to slap other people in the face for being "wrong" and the "right" choice becomes standard?

Where does the emotion of the bittersweet ending go when you have to force yourself into it?

A happy ending mustn't exist, there should be a "not-as-bad ending". Something sacrificed, some people dead. Nobody dying, no sacrifice and nothing happened does not give credit to the writing. Something which other players might feel isn't as great as the other "not-as-bad" endings, otherwise it becomes the standard ending everybody does.

I agree with your example. It's the same for me with the SM.

I almost feel like we should have been forced to lose at least one squad-mate on the SM, but we are starting to veer off-topic, with the lack of substantial new information lately I'd like to read the tiny scraps of info being offered through tweets.
