It's exactly what I've feared.

Now they only need to confirm Origin is mandatory to install and play ME3 PC version and all of my greatest fears regarding ME3 have been realized.

Well, Dragon Age 2 is currently my favourite game of the year so far and one of my favourite games of all time. I guess I can safely say: yay for me.

Well... I know this is BSN, but this does remind me of The Witcher 2 getting an arena mode, which actually seems neat if not mind-blowing. By the looks of things, this MP will probably something comparable, and by not releasing it as DLC it's at least FREE - except for the people who will have to buy the online pass. So CDProjekt still wins in my book : P (do Bioware employees remove comments like these? I do know they rated TW2 0 and DA2 10 on metacritic...)

CO-OP CONFIRMED

As long as they are either:

1. Independant, and not necessary to play in order to advance the story,
2. The second player is a squad member (drop in/drop out),

then all is well.

I don't see that as proof for a major shift like that. All I see is one particular story focused game getting an extra gameplay mode that happens to be multiplayer.

True, But the Very Fact That Games Like Dead Space, Assassins Creed, And Bioshock All Got Multiplayer, Its a bad indication of a Major Shift, Maybe I'm just being Paranoid...

would someone mind asking them if the co-op is cross-platform a la Portal 2?
Just asking because I'm a PS3 gamer here and some of my friends own the 360 version (we've both pre-ordered collector's edition) and I'd really rather not play through the game with some random people.

P,S, also maybe ask someone what the co-op missions will be played like? Will there be 3 shepards? or will it be, say, Grunt, Wrex and Mordin played by each person in one and Thane and Legion and Kasumi in the next?

The multiplayer co-op could be about defending Earth against Reaper forces, Horde style.

They tried that. The PC players kicked the butts of the 360 players due to the precision of the mouse compared to the controller.

I'll try and keep an open mind, but I don't know..... the presentation and marketing that BW has done so far for ME3 has unfortunately given me quite a few fears as to how this game's gonna turn out as the finale to this great series.

Won't happen, this isn't using Games for Windows Live.  PS3-PC is possible but doubtful as well.
