They could just slap together some screen shots, some game play and some random music and that would be enough for me.

I like the way she walks/runs...It suits her and her personality. She's not really a girly girl, even if she wears that dress from Kasumi's DLC.Uhh.. Jonah wrote...

IAWTC. I keep seeing people complain about her run, but I never even noticed it as something strange. I thought she was walking that way because A, she's a soldier, and B, she's wearing thick armor.SilentNukee wrote...

I agree with your assessment of her general character, but I think what Jonah was referring to was what many fans have viewed as an awkward run in ME2 compared to the first game. It's taken directly from MaleShep's animation and the smaller frame makes it suffer for that if you look closely.
MaleShep's running animation in ME2 is kind of weird, too, so that doesn't help.

What does "IAWTC" stand for? I think I'm new to that one.

Being a girly-girl has very little (I want to say nothing) to do with how a woman walks. Much like various women have different shapes, various women have different ways to move. I've seen tomboys whose natural walk would make me want to stare even though it's impolite. Like-wise I've seen girly-girls who walk like men.
I would love a return to female Shepard's original walk animation. Everything about the movement was subtle. Anytime I play the base game I'm amazed at how well-done that animation was because up until then every single female walk animation I'd seen exaggerated the movement. I mean look at DA2.

Waiting is a whole lot easier when worrying isn't involved. Guess that's what I'm getting at.
Much thanks to Mr. Hudson for taking time out of his life to personally do a Q&A with us rabid, needy fans. We appreciate it like you wouldn't believe!

It's more than just her walk though, innit? Personally, I feel that when you play as FemShep you're constantly shown animations that were clearly "imported" from the male character rather than BW going through the effort of making new ones. They're not that subtle, either - think of the way FemShep sits in chairs sometimes (like in the club in Omega): either leaning forward, elbows on her knees, or lounging upright, legs crossed with one ankle on the opposite knee. I mean, with no equipment to get in the way women don't even have a physical need to do the latter posture. And these animations are present even in casual clothing so the combat armour isn't an issue.
I agree with you that the animations should be *subtly* feminine - as opposed to the exaggerated stripper-sashay of Lady Hawke in DA2 - but the devs need to make that effort, because when you're staring at the same character for 50-60 hours of gameplay, you NOTICE the tiny nuances, don't you? And stuff like this gets under your skin after a while.

I agree. The animation in ME2 for female Shepard is just horrible. Not that it isn't bad for male Shepard as well, but it pretty much smacks you in the face each and every time you move. Then the cut scenes being somewhat smoother don't help as they show you what you're missing. I remember asking if there were an in-game reason for why Shepard walked the way they did, but got nothing. I guess knowing the cutscene animations worked right they couldn't try to get away with it. I don't know if you've noticed, but in ME1 if you look at Shepard's profile as she's walking you can see how different her walk is from male Shepard. Just the detail in the slight movement of her hips is incredible. I think it's more pronounced on her right than on her left however.
As for the sitting animation, they were the same as male Shepard's in ME1, but since you were in armor or the Alliance uniform all the time and there was no need for that kind of decorum I could overlook it. Then again, many women take advantage of sitting with splayed legs when wearing pants/trousers/slacks (well maybe, but jeans often gives people the excuse to be a bit more casual).

As I mentioned in an above post, it doesn't make sense if Shepard moves normally in every...single...cutscene.

He kind of missed my point there. If he wants to show how the cover system works while trying all of the surfaces, he can make the AI stop shooting for a few moments, for example.Vertigo_1 wrote...

...I have no problem with the way FemShep walks and I'm a female, rather tomboyish though... Am I the only one who doesn't have a problem with it? The only problem I had was when she was wearing that dress from Kasumi's DLC and the way she sat down, you could see up her skirt. In that case, yeah, that was silly.

What on earth does that mean? Is there actually a vehicle you drive(you pilot mechs)?
