How would a Prothean ever survive for 50,000 years, only to become a squadmate?! All the others on Ilos died in a muc shorter time than that!

Well Mars has something on it that deals with Protheans

It's a mining base, apparently--which screams Prothean artifact/tech to me.

Yeah, I figured once that question was posed, people would start the debate here.

And then Nihlus comes back to life to be shot again, for old times' sake.

What i find intriguing is how theyll handle it dialogue wise, if your interested the top bar on the left ? Paragon letdown, renegade letdown ? I really hope they dont mix up the dialogue so you dont accidently get into a romance... like i did several times on mass effect 2 :D

I've
always been puzzled by the immense popularity of homosexual
relationships regarding the bioware fandom, statistically I mean. If
lesbians and gays account for less than 10 percent of people does that
mean most "s/s"(very recently learned term) players are indeed still
straight?

Sexual gratification.

Straight guys: LESBIANS
Straight girls: ZOMG YAOI

And
sometimes, the romances are just good or interesting enough that people
will try them out even if it doesn't strictly mesh with their own
sexuality.

Also, keep in mind that the Bioware fandom is a very special fandom.

Ah yes, the slash brigade. I didn't think it was kinky enough to do anything in ME2 though [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/sideways.png[/smilie] Sadly I don't think we'll get PG-sex back from ME1. Why are games held to stricter standards than tv again?

And, frankly, one's sexual orientation often has little influence on their outward personality.

That is not as universally true as it should be.

I get a one way feel from it, butch and efiminate individuals are most likely gay, but many you'd never know unless they divulged. Oddly enough, in any case it's a better indicator than whether they are married or have children.

The best indicator is still whether they're homophobic. As science, religious organizations & politicians show us, if there's a guy on a crusade against gays somewhere, you can bet all your money that within 6 months pics of him in a gay bar or with a male escort or his emails/ads from gay dating sites will leak.

But will it be subtle?
I actually would not have a problem with male characters coming onto male Shepard, I just doubt it's going to be a case of "if you don't flirt, then you can interpret it as bromance." If precedent is any indication, bisexual Kaidan is going to call male Shepard handsome.

Oh man.  Kaidan and Liara in ME1 were awful.  Their attraction to you was like 50% of what they talked about.  In comparison, Ash dropped, what, one flirtatious line?

Hopefully this will be fixed.  I'm not saying it will happen, but it's possible.

Ash is notorious for ninjamancing. I remember the relationship seeming to be simply friendly when Ashley mentioned that was she was great in bed.

So I don't trust Bioware to make subtle romances. As such, I expect the bisexual male guy to hint towards attraction in an obvious way somewhere.

And? GaySheps & LesSheps have been dealing with unwanted flirting from day 1. We learned how to deal with it, so will you.

You made it sound like with the "I don't trust BioWare with this". But maybe I misinterpreted, still will serve as a good reminder for other people :police:

This is exactly my point - this system is bad.

If lesbians are butch and gays are campy, they are overdoing it and thus insulting themselves, their fellow non-butch/non-camp gays and the people who are supposed to tolerate them. What gender a person likes to f**k has no bearing on how they behave. The butch/camp personality is nothing more than a personal choice to adhere to ancient stereotypes, and is no different from a black person speaking in jive and willingly dropping to their feet to polish people's shoes (which, unlike the butch/camp-thing, is completely unacceptable in today's society).

After all, the whole camp thing was started by gay men during the 19th century who wanted a surefire way to spot each other in a crowd since openly broadcasting one's homosexuality was not a very good idea at the time. Now that we're somewhat more civilized, it's time the gays dropped the act and stopped treating their sexuality like it's some kind of f***ing exclusive high roller's club where people have to act and behave a certain way to fit in.

Gay people are not part of a special society - they're dudes/chicks who f**k other dudes/chicks. That is okay, but that does not make them special snowflakes. This is something many gays have failed to grasp.

Also, to state the obvious, I f***ing hate pride parades.

^Can you check what happen at gay pride parades in Beograd and Split?

Not very civilized.

And there are few countries that allow gay marriages.
Though I don't appreciate that often there are half naked people on those parades.

BW should have brandnew characters like Vega be s/s options (interpret that one how you want) maybe new flings like Shaila and leave past LIs as portrayed in the LI or friend roles they got from ME - ME2 with shep.

If pride parades never happened then equal(er) rights for gay people probably wouldn't exist either.

So can someone say lipstick-lesbian/straight-acting is a personal choice to adhere to ancient stereotypes of masculinity & feminity. The point of equality is that everyone should feel comfortable acting/dressing the way they want. Goes for straight-acting gays, goes for feminine gays, goes for feminine straight guys, goes for masculine straight women, etc. If you want to dictate "you shouldn't be campy/butch", then you're missing a point.

I dont care about Gays and Lesbians. I dont feel threatened by them, they are people too. Can we stop this damned off topic please? This thread has been created for tweets about ME3, not discussions. Plase have this discussion in appropriate thread or use private messages to sort this out.
