It's still not 100% he won't be in the game. There is still 4 months before the game comes out.Clara Shepard wrote...

... Seems to be some misunderstanding here. You know I never said she was a permanent squadmate, right? Just that she was one at some point (or maybe some points) in ME3. right? And you shouldn't get all worked up about things you don't fully understand yet, right?
Right.
Oh yeah, because "there's no such thing as a permanent squadmate/s" in ME3, right.... I swear, every time I hear some actual news that actually gets me back to being really excited about this game, they have to go and post something else that just drops that excitement way back down.<_<Chris Priestly wrote...

Chris, I believe most of us got the impression that she was permanent not from you, but from the spoiler leaks, which (to me at least) seemed pretty clear on the subject. Besides, your comment didn't really make much sense outside of the "permanent squad member" context anyway.Chris Priestly wrote...

While I would normally be quick to share the same sentiment, you do remember we can kill her in ME2 and have a replacement(most likely) correct?wright1978 wrote...
That's severely uncool. The rest of us have Tali forced upon us because of a vocal sub-group of the community.

Nope. Tali/Garrus killed in ME2 = less squadmates in ME3.

Same goes for every other squadmate. You kill them, you miss out on their content. Simple as that.

Actually, the most used suaddies in ME2 are Miranda and Garrus.

I think the fact that Miranda could be used from the very start of the game, as well as her usefulness in combat, may have been bigger factors on the amount she was used than popularity.Raizo wrote...

I was wondering about that, I remember one of the ME2 developers saying that Mirnda was the most used squad mate in ME2 and Garrus seems to be the most popular squad mate according to all the polls, at the very least his character does not seem to have any haters unlike Tali and Miri.

And Garrus is coming back for ME3, so obviously Bioware also recognizes his popularity.

I didn't say that she didn't have a large fanbase (I acknowledge that she does); just that when a character is available from the beginning of the game, you have more opportunities to use them, and thus they are more likely to get more overall use. For instance, lots of people like Legion, but I'm fairly sure that he is the least-used squadmate.Raizo wrote...

I dare you to post that in the Miranda thread ( 800+ pages and counting ). While I do agree that not everyone likes her believe it or not she does have a very large fan base.
