Leave me, I want to act like a kid :crying: I'm mourning Mordin right now... why bioware why? ;-;

It's still not 100% he won't be in the game. There is still 4 months before the game comes out.

I hope we get a choice who our final few squadmates are. I, honestly, don't give a hoot about the original squadmates. I like Kaidan...and...Tali was good in ME1 (sucked in ME2 - not because of her personality but because you get her late game and her abilities sucked. Because of that, I almost despise her now..maybe she'll be great again in ME3.)

If I could just choose who to bring - that'd be great. There were some much better characters in ME2. Mordin was absolutely amazing. I would also rather have Samara instead of Liara. It was pretty obvious Tali would be a squadmate - she was a squadmate in 1 and a squadmate in 2. Why wouldn't she be in ME3?

I understand it's suppose to be a war story, but I'm sure ME1 squadmates have other important issues to deal with as well. I don't want the whole ME1 squad. Wrex has his krogan stuff to deal with. Liara should still deal with her shadow broker stuff if you want. Ash/kaidan should support something alliance related somewhere else. Tali has her geth drama. Garrus...maybe has something to do with the turian issue as well (something about the turians and krogans?)

... Seems to be some misunderstanding here. You know I never said she was a permanent squadmate, right? Just that she was one at some point (or maybe some points) in ME3. right? And you shouldn't get all worked up about things you don't fully understand yet, right?

Right.

Yes, there's not really permanent squadmates. My post seemed a little sarcastic. But I meant it. I'd rather have those characters - if we could have a final squad to go into the final fights with that would be awesome.

I just prefer Samara to Liara and Mordin to Garrus.

Oh, oh... so she was originally intended to be sort of like Wrex in ME2? Provided he survived of course. Or was it more like a "Oh hi, Tali. What's that? You need me to go help you blow something up? Sure thing, let's go do that."?

good news for the ashleyfans

Casey Hudson
@CaseyDHudson Casey Hudson
@NzesiNyoka Those are all clothing concepts. Ashley has full armor and helmet similar to Shepard's, which I don't think have been shown yet.

Oh yeah, because "there's no such thing as a permanent squadmate/s" in ME3, right.... I swear, every time I hear some actual news that actually gets me back to being really excited about this game, they have to go and post something else that just drops that excitement way back down.<_<

Chris, I believe most of us got the impression that she was permanent not from you, but from the spoiler leaks, which (to me at least) seemed pretty clear on the subject. Besides, your comment didn't really make much sense outside of the "permanent squad member" context anyway.

That said, yes, your comment was no reason at all for anybody to get worked up. But such is the BSN's way, unfortunately.

P.S. One of the mods is saying that she checked with the writers and that your remark was not even true. See this: http://social.biowar...dex/7625709/853 Who is right here, you or her?

Gotta be more specific.

Every ME2 squadmate is technically a non-permanent squadmate, because they are killable in the sucide mission. You could even say that Joker is a non-permanent squadmate in ME2.

Anyhow, my beef isn't about Tali and Garrus self inviting themselves into the squad again. I just hope that they will have replacement squaddies if they died in ME2 (or for the case of Tali - wasn't recruited at all), and not simply leave us with a smaller roster. Because you know...variety is good? And it increases replayability.

Well at least with multiplayer, I can grief Talimancers and the Garrus housewives.

That's severely uncool. The rest of us have Tali forced upon us because of a vocal sub-group of the community.

While I would normally be quick to share the same sentiment, you do remember we can kill her in ME2 and have a replacement(most likely) correct?

Nope. Tali/Garrus killed in ME2 = less squadmates in ME3.

Same goes for every other squadmate. You kill them, you miss out on their content. Simple as that.

It's a bit different to miss Jack or Mordin's content (no matter how important it is) and losing a potential squadmate. If someone decide for some reason to kill Garrus and Tali in ME2, they'll lose two squadmates, with a less variety in the choice of the squad (we'll lose the Engineer and the Infiltrator squadmates counterpart).

Actually, the most used suaddies in ME2 are Miranda and Garrus.

I was wondering about that, I remember one of the ME2 developers saying that Miranda was the most used squad mate in ME2 and Garrus seems to be the most popular squad mate according to all the polls, at the very least his character does not seem to have any haters unlike Tali and Miri.

I think the fact that Miranda could be used from the very start of the game, as well as her usefulness in combat, may have been bigger factors on the amount she was used than popularity.

And Garrus is coming back for ME3, so obviously Bioware also recognizes his popularity.

I dare you to post that in the Miranda thread ( 800+ pages and counting ). While I do agree that not everyone likes her believe it or not she does have a very large fan base.

I didn't say that she didn't have a large fanbase (I acknowledge that she does); just that when a character is available from the beginning of the game, you have more opportunities to use them, and thus they are more likely to get more overall use. For instance, lots of people like Legion, but I'm fairly sure that he is the least-used squadmate.
