I have to say though, Bioware drove the DLC madness pretty far. I'm not necessarily opposed to DLC, though after having paid €15 for ME2 (~30-80 hours per playthrough), it would have seemed odd to pay twice that for some 5 hours of extra gameplay, especially considering that non-US PC gamers still haven't got any discounts on DLC. But Arrival took the DLC stuff too far for me. A canon, important part of the story that was purposefully left out of both ME2 and ME3? It should have been free, or have been included with ME3 (perhaps as a tutorial to start with). Now my Shepard has never done anything like blowing up batarians, but in ME3 he suddenly remembers he did so...

If every copy included the CN code at no extra charge, that’s news to me. I kinda feel duped now.
Listen, I’m not complaining about paid DLC. I’ve got most of them. Hell, my favorite NPC of all is Zaeed who’s (I thought paid) DLC

Must be regional thing. In Russia we had "DVD box" edition with Cerberus network and "CD box" which was cheaper but without CN.Benchpress610 wrote...
No when I bought it. They were FREE with the Cerberus Network, but the Cerberus Network itself cost addtional money. you cansee right now if you go to the DLC page in this BSN it costs 1200 Bioware pointsLGTX wrote...
No, every copy came with a Cerberus Network activation code. Which in turn gave you the option to download Zaeed right away. The others just came in later, but were also free.
Still no boxed Collectors edition.

Since when BioWare has free DLC?
ME2
Normandy Crash Site
Zaeed - The Price of Revenge
Cerberus Weapon and Armor
*Arc Projector
Firewalker Pack
DA:O
The Stone Prisoner
*The Lucky Stone
*Embri's Many Pockets
*Amulet of the War Mage
*Helm of the Deep
*Mark of Vigilance
DA:II
The Black Emporium
*The Far Cliffs of Kirkwall
*Lothering's Lament
*Of Things Not lost
*Boots of the Frozen Waste
(*while these are only single weapons or items, they are still DLC available for free)
And sure, while ME2's free DLCs required you to buy the game new, if you buy the game used then of course Bioware isn't going to give you free stuff - they don't get any of the money fro used games. I'm not saying the used game market is wrong, but people who don't want to pay the proper price for games aren't going to get any extra stuff for free.

Dangit! I've already finished my canon ME1 run and I'm already in the middle of ME2.

The problem is that you only get a product key for BDtS after registering ME1 on the old forums which are now closed. To get a product key you'll have to contact EA and somehow prove you actually own a legal new copy of the game.aridor1570 wrote...

Why the hell would they not include that? Menu navigation was absolute ass in ME2 and they're not fixing that? Damn.Vertigo_1 wrote...

Yes, that was actually my biggest point of criticism against ME2. It's what made me vote StarCraft II game of the year instead of ME2.
QFT. (Well, I still voted for ME2, but you get the idea...) It's little things like this that made ME2 feel like a cr*ppy console port, even though it's otherwise a great game. It's quite disappointing that Bioware can't be bothered to fix something so simple that would improve the experience so much. I mean, how hard can it be to implement 2-3 more key bindings?
This is the first thing I've heard about ME3 that really disappoints me... not because it's such a dealbreaker, but because it's something so simple and basic that I simply can't fathom why the devs won't do it. Especially since we had it in ME1. <_<

Could someone ask if there actually is post-campaign play? As in, will it be like ME2 where we can freely roam the galaxy or is it like ME1 where there's no post gameplay period? It's been bothering me for awhile now.. lol
