finally, some akuze retribution.

That would be nice to mention it somewhere considering Shepard didn't even bother to ask about it in ME2.  "Oh hey, TIM...just wondering....that whole horrible nightmarish event that shaped me as a soldier that you kind of signed off on.... Just wanted you to know I'm not pleased..."

I'm looking forward to more character development for Shepard.

Nice, very nice. Also looking forward to what is in store for Earthborn Shepards. Those little touches are what really help with the whole RPG-immersion factor, character development for Shepard is kind of a big deal.

And my Shepard is also a Spacer, so if the the Alliance fleet were to be destroyed by the Reapers what does that then mean for his mother?  It's all so exciting!

Mac wins!

Glad he joined twitter, he was a bit if an engima to me before that (compared to some of the other major players in the dev team anyway), but maybe that's my fault.

His tweets about focusing more on Shep as a person in ME3 are some of the most exciting 'little details' about ME3 for me.

Reaally can't wait for that FemShep trailer. Kinda hope they don't make her a Soldier though, would seem a great opportunity to show off one of the other classes!

Indeed, hopefully we'll see some vanguardness in another trailer. I also noted that Mac Walters referred to Shepard as "she" which kind of made me smile.

They mean that some squad members will be temporary and only for specific missions while others will be a part of a fixed group onboard the SR2.

I wish!

It might be choice between X or Y on your squad, or it'll be like a round robin and people will stay and leave your squad during parts of the game, the one thing i think might actually happen is you'll get to choose between every single squadmember at the finale of the game

I think the round robin might make a lot of sense. Especially as you recruit your squadmate's various races.

Ooh I wonder if that character background stuff means your LI, if you have one, gets to meet your parents, if they're alive?

Or we get to meet theirs.. if they are alive. Which.. doesn't apply to many squad-mates, come to think of it.

It either means imo that most will be temporary members for certain missions/sections of the game and or many will be offed.

I figure it's one way to pay every character fan service while tieing up loose ends.

I'm probably wrong. Whatever.

I think that means every squadmate( but VS and Vega I think) can leave Shepard at some point of the game( example for Garrus would be great if he joins back Turian army, otherwise his leadership skills will be wasted while being Shepard's "grunt") while some squadmates can join you later on in game as permanent.

Also( I hope) in invasion of Sol System to take back Earth, you can choose anyone for squadmate if didn't died or some other plot reason.

I think you may be right.

As much as I would like my squad back, most of the characters have more important places to be. If their story arcs demand them to be somewhere other than the Normandy then I won't be upset - I'd be more upset if squadmembers were confined to the Normandy at the expense of their story arc. If they work like Liara did in LotSB then that is fine by me. I only want them back on the ship if it makes sense form a story standpoint - for example, confining Wrex to the Normandy or Mordin to the Normandy would be contrived seeing as they both have much more important things to be doing with regards to the Genophage plotline.

I'm hoping you'll have the option to always keep your LI on-board the ship as a squad member.

I agree with you in every respect.  Much as I'd like everyone to be available for every mission (if the game had unlimited resources, anyway), confining some squaddies to a small number of missions allows those missions to be more personalised and for more character development to occur for those squaddies in those missions.
