They could have added music to Shepard's personal quarters.

In ME2 you had the option of choose the music for Shep’s quarters, or not have it at all. I don’t see why they wouldn’t keep that option in ME3

Good point, though I was referring to something, ya know, along these lines. But I'm probably daydreaming.

Ah yes, Deus Ex had excellent music. I'm not sure if music like that would fit ME but really I'd have to see it first.

Hard to describe but Deus Ex's music just seemed to flow better than ME1's ambient music. It probably has something to do with the themes of the games. DE is much more of a stealthy espionage game while ME is more of a hard battle race against time thing. Thus the really cool, quiet, and subdued music fits Deus Ex a lot more.

But look at me I'm rambling. I apologize.

Can anyone answer what is the difference between the artbook that comes with the CE of the game and the CE artbook sold on this website?

I pre-ordered both but i got a bad feeling they are both the same and i just spent 60 quid for no reason.

Kasumi music in her loyalty mission (once it got to the fighting) reminded me a lot of some music from Dues Ex. Really liked it, would like to hear more of that in places it would fit.

So... music stuff :)

Shep's quarters has a stereo system again with a bunch of tracks on it...

We wanted to add something to the citadel to give the place an atmospheric feel due to all the stuff that's happening around you. The Normandy is YOUR ship and we didn't want to force a feel or emotion on the player forever so we didn't add any ambience music there. A lot of people found the music on the Normandy in ME1 far too repetitive and often conflicted with what was happening on screen.

Also, I was really worried that if we had music on the Normandy then basically the entire game has nonstop music... that's not very cinematic. Watch any film and you'll notice that most films have music for only a third at most. You need a break every now and then as a palette cleanser. Plus there's a whole lot of content on the Normandy that would have felt weird with the generic music playing. Therefore we added a lot of music over these scenes on the Normandy. That to me is far more important; the relationship developments, romances and conflicts that happen on the Normandy are far more important to hit musically so that's where we focused our attention.

Hope that helps explain the decisions :) Music is such a subjective thing that of course not everyone will agree, but as long as the big stuff hits well and feels right then hopefully we've done our job :)

Thanks!

Thanks for jumping in here Rob! It makes sense, though I hope there are more options on the stereo system in the captain's quarters.

ME1 the most repetitive and by association, the worst music in the game was the Normandy ambient music and the Citadel ambient music. Both the wards and the presidium.

I think the noveria hotel music was alot worse it was ear grating AND repetitive as well... thankfully you only hear it in that one area

Ha ha, that's a good question! My point was that the Normandy is your home... where you should feel safe and neutral. I wasn't really talking about ownership from Shepard's perspective... more the players.

Thank you for giving us this insight.
I totally understand that. But you are going to bring back the Normandy tune for some seconds at a fitting moment, just for nostalgias sake, right? Right? :crying: You know, music evoking powerful emotions and stuff.

Also, that's a ship.
