Didn't an article say they replaced the planet scanning with "rescue type mission"?
IGN!!!!
Yeah I think so. Instead of mining your rescueing people or something.
This sounds more likely. I like the idea of a rescue mission type thing. ... As long as the galaxy map still has the Uncharted Worlds track playing under it.![]()

I'd imagine finding hostages is smiliar to finding N7 missions where you get a signal and search for it... maybe. hard to say. In either case if your in Reaper Controlled territory trying to find folks to rescue you get random-ish encounter stuff where you have to run away from the Reaper to survive. Apparently that's a space mini-game of some kind.
Also that hostage rescue stuff is where the MP wave based stuff ties in. So I'm guessing (read: wildly speculating) that the MP maps are used for the hostage rescue stuff to allow for a massive amount of them to be around, maybe even randomly created. As the rescue ops is how we get resources now I think.

Unless your talking about the Reaper mini-game. That im a tad scared off too. BioWare doesn't have a good track record of good mini-games.
-edit-
Though if we're lucky the Reaper mini-game will be short and just ammount to dodging fire for 10 seconds. That I wouldn't mind as long as it doesn't crop up all the damn time. How often we have to deal with it, I think, will ultimately contribute to how irritating I feel it is personally at least.
The hostage rescue stuff im looking forward to. if i had to pick murdering 20 things in ME2 to get resources, or mineral scanning? Give me the murderize every time!

I'm assuming that means she's killable in 3 but that's also because I assume everyone can die in 3 depending on how it ends. Not that I want to kill her off. I like her.

Why not? Boys aren't the only ones playing Mass Effect. I support it.

I had originally imagined it as they give you a little open area to explore. While exploring the area you could encounter enemies and at the same time look for the survivors.AlphaJarmel wrote...
Ugh everyone complained about mining. Really hoping the rescue missions are completely different.
Now I don't know what to think of it. I really don't want to just be looking at a planet though.
