@SamHulick
There are rumors, i have tweeted @dsilvermanea about it, waiting for reply, @bioware also told about some ways to get demo early
@dsilvermanea
@AleoNis_7 @SamHulick @bioware that is not accurate. Preordering does NOT get you the #ME3 demo earlier, but it gets you some awesome weapons

If this has been posted somewhere already, even in another thread..oops. but here:
www.gamerzines.com/xbox-360/news/mass-effect-3-saves.html
One line in particular about how "it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep your Mass Effect 3 saves. Obviously I can't say anything, but it wouldn't be a bad idea..." Mike Gamble
Wha..? Maybe it's just DLC, or something..
Or...........:happy:
Idk! It seems to have been posted on 2/4/2012 by "pewpewreviews" ?

If so they better hire Neil Gaiman to pen the story.aLucidMind wrote...
It has already been stated that the Mass Effect series will continue. Definitely not a hint at DLC, more along the lines of confirming the continuation of the series.

Everything they've said so far as to what may come if they do a new game (which they've stated they haven't planned at all) would probably be in the past, plenty of big events they could make games around.

I do see some stuff you could use the saves for. Add it to a future codex with specific information about what happened in the past.
Or add some conversations in world x about the reapers. Add some rumours based on your ME3 play.
I would love to play a ME MMO. SWTOR but with ME and different gameplay and much better graphics.

I have no interest in playing a version of ME where I can see enemies across a room, and they can see me, but they refuse to engage me because I am not close enough.

I mean what if the whole of humanity gets wiped out in ME3 in your save? What if you end up taking out another race all together just to get the another one to join you? How do they go about account for that in another game? Who would you play as? I still think a past title makes more sense.

I don't think we need a MMO anytime soon since we already have SW:TOR.
As for whether or not it will work will depend on exactly how many different outcomes ME3 can have. Most the endings might be similar enough that several hundred years down the line things will be roughly the same. Sure, there will probably be an ending where humanity is destroyed but Mass Effect 2 had a non-canon ending where Sheaprd died, and that didn't stop the next game.

I just don't think a future title would make sense. They'd have to do a whole lot of 'set in stone this is what really happened' like other games do for that to work right.

Humanity is going to be hit really hard regardless. The best way would be to have a time-skip of a few centuries to give time for the different endings to converge to a more or less similar point without being too jarring. I don´t know how well a title set in the past would work, I think most people would like to play as a human, but there´s only 30 years before ME1 for that. You can do lesser scale conflicts, and while it´s unlikely a Reaper level threat would present itself, I´d like something bigger than the Skyllian Blitz.

They would definitely have to give it a looot of time either way.
-edit-
I agree general public would prefer human, maybe, or at least that's what there marketting is going to be telling them. Even if theres plenty of games with out a human main character that do fine. The way they talked about future projects if they do them (heh, course they will) just made it seem like they where thinking stuff like the Rachni wars or whatnot.
Meh who knows, they could technically do something 'during' the same era as ME1 or ME2 and just not focus on the Reapers. Reaper threats just a focus for Shepard up till ME3 if you think about it, rest of the galaxy does know or doesn't believe for the most part.
-edit 2-
And forgot one other thing. Chances of a new ME game being on the current set of consoles is rather slim... so the save files from that wouldn't exactly be quite as ehh... portable to the next. Would just be a PC thing for the most part. I'm sure there would be someway to fenagle things over and around to get it to work, but that wont be a mainstream solution.

Yeah guess that's true enough and even if 'humanity' earth-wise is wiped out you still have some settlements. I could see 200 years down the road making some sense in that. Hopefully theres no other scenarios where a race can be 'completely' wiped out via a worst ending type ordeal so the same thing could be applied there.
Yeah, I sincerely doubt that it will be possible to completely destroy any race in ME3. All of the major races are spread across tens or even hundreds of planets. "Severely reduced" is a much more likely scenario than "completely eradicated," assuming an ending where the Reapers are beaten.

This is exactly why I think it's unlikely that we'll get a prequel game. I just don't see them making a Mass Effect game where Humans aren't around yet. They could do something between the First Contact War and ME1, of course, but that poses its own story limitations.

I don't think moving save files over to a new system is all that crazy. For one thing, both PS3 and 360 have an option to keep your saves in cloud storage, so anyone who uses that option should be able to access them on the new console just by logging into their account. On top of that, both can also use standard usb thumb drives as storage devices. Seeing as pretty much everyone has one or two of these lying around, I'd consider that a relatively "mainstream solution."

Kinda hope ME3 handles it differently as I dislike not being able to 'move' my damn save.
-edit-
Yeah I'm spazzing almost more for the demo then I am for the main game. Mostly because it'll be my means to play ME3 non-stop 'till' I get my hands on ME3. The whole MP part of it is going to be great way to try everything out and kill some mooks.

You could just move it to a USB stick, copy it to your PC, and move the save back to your HDD. I do it all the time when I edit my ME2 saves.Adhin wrote...
Think the clouds on 360 are gold only which would severely reduce that, but your right such things make it all far more likely. Though I can't move my ME2 save files anywhere. Way ME2 handles its saves Xbox hates letting you mess with.
