"Damn, ME3 is hard to break away from. But I have Kingdoms of Amalur just begging to be played. :/"

I've played KoA and I can honestly say that game wouldn't keep me from ME3 for a second.

This. I couldn't even complete the KOA demo to get my free stuff... Posted Image

I had it running while I took a shower.

Does that work? I thought you had to complete the level or something.

You need to complete the tutorial part - and get to the fateweaver outside - after that you just have to play for 45 minutes to complete the demo - you don't have to actually do anything after that  - those 45 minutes can be spent with your character standing looking at a tree if that's what you want.

It's still just before 7am in Edmonton, so if there's a new trailer today we probably wont see it for, at the very least, a couple of hours.

And to think we're supposed to be getting the FemShep trailer before the demo, unless BioWare pulls another delay on us.

Ya know…when it comes to BioWare’s announcements and such, I have learned to lower my expectations. So I will not be disappointed if some snafu happens, and pleasantly surprised if everything goes according to plan.

Don’t get me wrong. BioWare makes amazing games. It’s their PR what sucks. IMHO

Yeah I just let my character sit there while I watched tv until the stuff unlocked. The game reminded me of Fable 1 in a way but Fable 1 was far superior:D

I liked how it seemed like it might be a more linear RPG. Then it went and open-worlded me. Like that's actually going to blow me away anymore, c'mon. I could be off-base though... maybe the narrative is far more linear than those found in other WRPGs. That'd be nice. Something at least to the level of Mass Effect would be good.

And yes, you read that right.

Also, some perspective is good to have. Back in the day, we didn't have nearly this much information about an unreleased game before we could buy it. Maybe a few screen caps in magazines and a handful of articles, but I don't recall ever having this much knowledge about a game 10 years ago.

So, the PR may suck, but we've got to be grateful for what we've got so far.

I kind of like the secrecy. I don't want to know EVERYTHING before the game releases. That said, when you promise new info on a certain date, you should probably 'deliver' it on time.. yeah, I just went there. But really.

PS: I say this because I care for you, BW

Anyway, I prefer Meer's Renegade myself, but they're both pretty good for it.

Depends on the line being delivered.  USUALLY Meer is the "better" renegade, but every once in a while TALK ANGRY TO ME, FEMSHEP.  But most of the time, yeah, Meer = better renegade, Hale = better paragon.  The passion in Hale's voice makes some of the obnoxiously Care Bearsy lines seem a little more badass.

Both of them sound awful during the romances, though.  Yeesh.

Also, I gather that the FemShep trailer will be showcasing renegadeness.  Yay?

Huh, on r/masseffect we have come to the conclusion that Male is the better Paragon and Femal the better renegade.

/cool story.

My thoughts exactly... After I was done admiring the pretty colors, I spent the rest of the demo afk in that first town.

I remember the first time I played Oblivion and made it out of that first dungeon... I kind of ran around for about a half hour with no clue what to do, and turned the game off. I know open world games are all the rage now but it's just not my thing... I want character/story driven games.

Ditto, breyant. Ditto.

That said, I actually enjoyed Skyrim for around 130 hours. Atmosphere is key to me when it comes to... well, anything. So I was able to soak in the radiance of the pretty places for a long time, ignoring the fact that there was far less story/character development than I usually care for. But then at around 130, I turned it off and... well, it's been ten weeks.

Agreed but...well... times change, and they shouldn't make any promises they can't keep.

I actually ended up in around the same place with Skyrim, at about the same time.. I hit about 120/30 hours and just started to get... bored? The lustre of the world was wearing a bit thin. I actually pushed myself to finish the story and wrap up the major side quests (like the Dark Brotherhood and Civil War questlines), and then I turned the game off and haven't loaded it since. I keep saying I might go back to it in a year or two, once it can all be fresh for me again.

I played the demo yesterday... not my cup of tea, but definitely not terrible.

I probably won't get the game, but it looks like a decent game (or a great one if your into fantasy hack-n-slash RPGs).

I hit my peak around 100 hours, as well. However, with all of the new mods and high-res texture packs on PC, I'm super happy to play it again with a few tweaks. I've already played another 7 hours since the texture pack release.
I'm actually really hoping that ME3 will also get official support for high-resolution textures. The fan-made ones were a little clunky in the implementation, but still beautiful.

Official support makes it easy though. :wizard:

Exactly the same for me.  I did enjoy my time with it, though.  If some dev can provide ME like story with Skyrim gameplay and "open world" feel, it would be heaven.
