I would love to have more missions on Illium. I thought it was said it would be in ME3 but maybe i didn't read right.

If I were you, dont give up on a mission on llium, by looking on the galaxy map and looking at the location of illium in ME2, i think we will get it as DLC

I just looked on Gambles Twitter link there. Says 4 hour meeting about the new ending is today. Looks like 4 hours will determine what well see in the summer.

Although Shep's Origins is a fantastic idea, the first thing that came to mind was this and I just have to bring up one caution:

If there is an Origins DLC that includes shooting gameplay, then would BioWare have to reincorporate overheating to their weapons because thermal clips would not be implemented until Mass Effect 2?

I actually prefer thermal clips... but this could be something that may get overlooked in production.

Combining THE awesome feature from every game you play into 1 game rarely results in good. Need to understand the design before copying it

A single "killer" feature is often supported by several more subtle features. It's the design chain that gives it strength and value.

Copying just the obvious, superficial elements will leave you with a shallow design with little replay value. Great features are layers deep

"Extended cut bender this afternoon. 4 hour meeting FTW!"

A 4 hour meeting this late after the EC annoucement leads me to believe that Bioware have no plans set in stone regarding the finality of the DLC.

Well, they surely have now after that 4 hours meeting

Ok... What do you say?
When they'll announce it?
Next week or in May?

Interesting, also, haven't found tweets from him that are similar in content. Speculations!

So, let's assume he's talking about the ME3 game and is referring to the previous ME games. What was their killer feature or THE awesome feature? So that merely 'copying' it wouldn't be special enough to stand out?

And so the mystery deepens and the plot thickens, what could these non-vague awfully specific tweets mean?

Single player vehicle missions DLC a la Firewalker? Wouldn't mind it for the variety. Vehicle DLC for MP? I'm a little iffy on that concept. It would end up like Battlefield in space. Not necessarily a bad thing IF it is implemented properly.

Those maps were never meant for vehicles. Besides, I would much rather have the quarians flotilla targeting system gun in multiplayer instead, an ultra super rare item that can be used instead of the cobra and can kill all enemies in the area for one wave.

Like in gears of war, where you get the hammer of dawn on occasion and can use it in the boss waves.

Oh, I wasn't talking about the current maps. I was thinking about new ones that could support the idea. Again though, it's all just a bunch of "what if's".

Pretty sure it is something a lot 'smaller' than we imagine.

Shep Origins?

Not a good idea. Why?

War Hero would have a great battle and Ruthless would have a great battle. Awesome but too short.

Sole Survivor would have a boss fight with a thresher maw. Not so awesome and way too short.

Or incredibly atmospheric. Imagine groping your way through the pitch black tunnel that is a Thresher Maw nest with only a flashlight trying to escape from Thresher Maws and Thresher Maw spawn while listening to the screams and cries of your former comrades as they are slaughtered.

That would be completely awesome.

And as you stomp through these tunnels, fastening your heavy duty gear and gripping your sole plasma cutter a bit tighter.. you walk in the dim light of your flashlight, with your shield strength being reflected in the small lights on your back.

Solving puzzles with your biotic powers, dismembering the occasional Thresermaw Mutant to use their scythe like appendixes as oversized darts....

And we shall call that DLC: Dead Space, the Shepard Edition. It would be awesome, because then they could draw in the Dead Space crowd as well.

Well features that stand out to me would be vehicle-based exploration and (to a minor extent) hacking.

Just as long as we get a version of the Hammerhead that actually has shields this time. If so, then I would be happy. All the time I spent with that vehicle I always hoped Bioware would release some downloadable upgrades for that vehicle. Heck, I even had a thread dedicated to the subject right here:
