Hmm, well, as far as cuts--cinematic are nice, but if it's a choice between more dialogue choice and cines, I choose dialogue choice.
I hope BW sits down and takes a good, long look at what really attracts fans to its particular "brand of crazy". For me, it's all about the story; character interaction and player agency.
This is what makes BW special to me. Unique. This makes other games, as good as some are, "lonely".
BW has always given me the right combo of action and story/character emphasis. I'm not a sandbox girl. Ugh, no. I need an urgent tale; real squad/companion interaction; and the feeling like I'm making some kind of difference for good, or bad, in this pretend world.
I want to care about the characters.
Cut back on the cines if you have to...really. Too often I was just holding the controller in my hand doing nothing. Essentially, waiting for my turn because it seemed the game was playing itself now.
It goes from an interactive experience to a passive experience.
What makes BW unique, for me is the story; dialogue and squaddie interaction. They're real characters---friends, for the most part, lol. Not just follower fodder.
It's great to get inspiration and ideas from other sources, but, please, don't lose what is special about BW games in the process. Because I don't want every other game. I want BW games.
