I just bet that on E3 we'll get oficially who's coming back, and a release date.

Does anyone know the official release of the EC or when they will say the official release?
TBA Summer, is the only closest answer you'll get from them until they release new information on it.

I don't understand why they don't try to quench the flames by posting this stuff. Sure 80% of the reaction will be cautious, but it won't cause any more trouble than there already is.
Because every time they tried to quench the flames before, the buckets were filled with gasoline instead of water. They didn't intend to cause a firestorm, but not all of the buckets were labelled properly. Honestly, the best thing they can probably do at this point is stay quiet, since even when they release positive news different portions of the fanbase erupt with rage.
They were trying, at one point, to keep details of the ME3 plot as secret as possible until release in order to avoid massive spoilers like with ME2. This info was leaked several months prior to release, ruining the story for many. If the EC is some sort of big reveal, I can certainly see why they're being so guarded about it. Apparently, there are some that actually like the endings as they are, so if the EC changes any perspective as to what the face-value endings are that's already a check in the box for some angry fans (unless they like the new stuff better). Even if it isn't something huge and just an exposition of the final hours of the plot, do they really want to risk alienating half the fanbase again because they couldn't give every single individual exactly what they wanted?
Even if the extended content is awesome, this won't be a 100% win situation for them, no matter what they do.

Good answer, fair enough then :-)

What he said. Hype isn't a good thing...for anyone or any game. It just makes the real experience lesser.

The $200 million in sales wasn't enough?

Mac probably didn't get a lot of cash. I heard that writers are quite poor in terms of earning money in ONE job

You know, my first impression was to go off in a tangent that would have been the derogatory equivalent of, "Are you serious? Have you NOT been paying attention, or have you kept your head in the sand?!" But I kept my cool, took a few breaths and remembered a few key things. One, this has been discussed on more than one occation, and two, after coming back from vacation with family and friends he probably has a clear head and should have his center for up and coming issues. Although they really need to ditch the "art" references due to the large number of story based problems and issues ME3 has (ending notwithstanding) I'm willing to give those folks one last chance to redeem themselves and the series. If I can't do that much I have no room to talk do I?

I'm fine with them considering their work an artform, I really am. They put a lot of hours into it, regardless of what a lot of people think. Unfortunately they might be wise to stop using the word for a while, since BSN forumites have twisted the meaning to an equivalent of "Beelzebub" and only get further enraged when they hear it mentioned.

What else can he say? He wrote it, he appreciates it, many do not, but that's not the point. It relates with not changing anything for the EC, but just "clarifying". He has bosses as well, I highly doubt anyone in Bioware will say "We made a mistake and we're looking to fix it" because it's not like everyone hates the endings you know. I like it personally because of IT, but I still see it's a complete mess, which is unfortunate.
