Deus ex machina is practically synonymous with terrible writing and If the Extended Cut keeps the ending scene intact including starchild (which we've been told will happen) then yes, Bioware has already failed.

With 1.2 million coming from free copies all WOW annual pass subscribers got and huge asian sales (which ME3 doesn't have, Diablo is one of the very few western games to be big in Asia). Sure Diablo is big and bigger than ME series even when excluding all the free stuff, but even EA doesn't PR the numbers the way Activision does. EA for example didn't brag about free ME2 copies pople who got DA2 recieved.devSin wrote...
That sold more copies in 24 hours (on one platform) than will likely be ME3's total lifetime sales (on all three platforms).
They have a bit of work to do, but they got so much right in bringing things forward. It'll be interesting to see how the current balance complaints pan out. Tons of fun, and it's still Diablo.
Also, Call of Duty sells like 5 times what Diablo sells so sales argument is really not the greatest

She's also confirms (in a tweet to someone else) that weird movements of the crew/Normandy will be explained in the EC:

I believe the 3.5 and 6+ million figures (first day and first week sales, respectively) are sans the free passes.IsaacShep wrote...

In any event, I wasn't really arguing anything. Except maybe that Diablo III has fun. ;-)

A lack of knowledge on quarian physiology, most likely, seeing as that comic gets much of it wrong; legs, blood colour, lack of a third toe...xsdob wrote...

Ah, I didn't notice the feet thing even when I googled a picture of tali's feet I missed the toe, took me a minute to notice it.
Also, this is the same comic company that did the bald female turian design. I can forgive the small stuff,
At least she doesn't look like a chimpanze like that batarian does. This is an interpretation, small inconsistencies I can forgive, things like quarians not wearing envirosuits like in deception I cannot.

Why would multiplayer DLC be the best thing they ever put out. The last DLC that claimed that title was the Shadow Broker DLC. Why would a multiplayer DLC beat that? My money is on the EC.IsaacShep wrote...

Sorry, but this is the guy who claimed he didn't expect that fans would have a demand for "closure" in ME3 and that synthesis is the absolute optimal ending for the Mass Effect series.

Yeah, gamble is a by the numbers man.
He's seems pretty smart and knows his stuff when it comes anything by the numbers, but when it comes to player engagement and getting into players headspace he looks like he really struggles.
Which is something that BioWare as a whole has dropped off over the last few years.

While that may be true, do you know how many times Bioware has lied about almost everything since ME2? There could be new gameplay in the EC. Besides, we don't know what Bioware's definition of cutscene and gameplay are.IsaacShep wrote...

I'm feeling both apprehensive and mildly intrigued as these tweets are surfacing. On one hand, I feel like it might actually redeem the ending. On the other, I can't help but think they're going to maintain everything happened as it did, and just throw in a few extra scenes. Also a bit worried that the ending might make it to be where Shepard is sacrificed regardless of your EMS. I recall Weekes, on that letter attributed to him, stating he wouldn't mind Shepard dying as long as it was worthwhile.
I hate the endings as is, no if buts or maybe, flat out loathe them.
But if the EC comes out and does nothing more than explain in an acceptable manner the starkid, the unusual developments and gives exclusive footage based on your choices. It will probably be enough for me.
Although everything after launching the point of no return mission is waaaay below par. These things should be enough to make me want to play more games with different outcomes and look at future DLC.

Yep. You see this is something that EA has never ever grasped.
If you call a game Starcraft - you keep all future iterations of Starcraft sequels the same. If you call a game Diablo - you keep all future itereations of the Diablo sequels the same. Spinoffs are fine, but you don't make them sequels or follow on games - you make them alternate genres that sidestep the original IP.
EA decides to continue the series into sequels and drastically changes the gameplay and the heart and soul of the game. Sometimes to devastating affect.
You want to know why COD, Asassins Creed, Starcraft and Diablo sell without changing anything major? Because fans know what they're going to get, they know they can drop $100 on a game and its going to be more of the same awesome they love. Those games spent years building up huge fan bases who loved the series - despite some of those big name franchises getting mixed reviews and opinions when first released.
You want to innovate and experiment? C&C4, for example, is not the place you do it. Make a new game.
