I like Protheans as much as the nexy guy, but... Please, not in MP. Not yet.
Ex-Cerberus, though? Finally someone to give all those Cerberus-branded weapons to.

When Coats is calling off any other attempts at going to the beam, Harbinger is already flying off. There is no reason for them not to go and help Shepard or follow him up the beam, literally no reason whatsoever. Its just horrendous writing and nothing else.xconceptualx wrote...

Yeah nothing weird about it. The Normandy leaves the battle for a second time to go back to Earth to pick up your krew for some reason, regardless of the fact that all of them were all like "we either get this done, or we die trying".simfamSP wrote...

Though it should have been explained in the original game....
Though there is nothing weird about it. The got picked up by Joker, end of. Nothing complicated, supernatural, or weird about it.
I don't know what game you are playing but in ME, your squad that has been with you through hell and back, would never leave Shepard and just flee to save their lifes.
It was thought that nobody made it to the beam, this includes Shepard and Anderson. Coats clearly states this over the radio while a bloodied and bruised Shepard is waking up from the blast. He also calls off any further attacks. The Normandy crew is now justified in believing that Shepard is dead, and that Hammer failed. If you cannot open up the Citadel, you cannot use the Crucibel. What reason is there to stay on Earth? Or even in the Sol system for that matter? Because from this point on, Earth is a lost cause. Picking up the rest of the crew and getting out of the Sol system is the most reasonable thing they could have done.

Ugh, every time I start to get excited about the EC, I see seomthing like this. That whole Normandy crash sequence was moronic on many different levels. Don't explain it, remove it! I don't understand why they want to double down on bad decisions when they've been given a second chance to go back and do things right.

Didn't I just read the other day that all the "rebellion pack" leaked info out of Asia was false? Didn't they just deny all that, now they're "announcing" it all as being real? LOLWUT?
Nope.
The response was cleverly worded and did not deny the Rebellion pack at all, just that the release date posted by Sony (May 16 if I remember correctly) was incorrect. Read between the lines. A lot of the "Bioware denied X" posts are the result of a failure to do this.

I kinda had a hunch it was Protheans, but I'm actually more relieved that it's not. Suddenly Protheans all over multiplayer would really marginalize and diminish the uniqueness of Javik, no matter how cool it would be. Since they've been loosely tying in multiplayer operations with the progression of single player, it would have been a hell of a thing to explain where all those Protheans came from.
Then again, I think the system that contained Ilos is one of the highlighted areas that you can't access in SP yet, so anything is possible...
(yeah, I know they're all supposed to be dead there)

Yea, seriously. It ruins it for me. I don't really care about what you want out of the EC (if anything). It negates the possiblity of a reunion with Shepard's crew & LI. I'm sure you don't care about such things, but some of us do. Rescue mission scene in the EC? No relays. That's about all BioWare could do to fix it short of getting rid of the crash scene entirely or making it be Earth instead.

Well, it means it's going to have to spend a whole bunch of time and resources on a likely contrived and weak explanation for why the Normandy crashed, rather than on something that I might actually find of some sort of value.
Which would be particularly annoying because the Normandy crew being stuck on that planet is about the most boring and pointless outcome possible.

"The innate aggressiveness found within the Vorcha make them shockingly durable combatants, and when coupled with their Flamer skill, the Vorcha sentinel is a force to be reckoned with."
That line right there made me lol. the flamer skill, oh god it's like something the forum chaotic good trolls would come up with for a laugh.
I now look forward to playing as the vorcha, and for the cerberus vaanguard biotic chainbaldes.

Why is that DLC free? Does anyone know if it will bring anything into single player or is it going to be the same thing as Resurgence? I'm srarting to think they care less and less about SP and more about that MP mode that is basically a horde mode ripoff.
You do realize that in all the letters, tweets, messages, and everything sent to bioware all specifically said that there would be no dlc purchased by the fanbase and that the boycott would continue until the ending issue was adressed.
So they put all the efforts into finding a balanced approach to solving the problem of the endings so that fans would actually want dlc again.
If you want to blame anyone for the lack of singleplayer dlc, blame retake and htl for it. They're trying to now shift blame to bioware montreal and austin for the focused effort of the extended cut.
