Why is that DLC free? Does anyone know if it will bring anything into single player or is it going to be the same thing as Resurgence? I'm srarting to think they care less and less about SP and more about that MP mode that is basically a horde mode ripoff.
You do realize that in all the letters, tweets, messages, and everything sent to bioware all specifically said that there would be no dlc purchased by the fanbase and that the boycott would continue until the ending issue was adressed.
So they put all the efforts into finding a balanced approach to solving the problem of the endings so that fans would actually want dlc again.
If you want to blame anyone for the lack of singleplayer dlc, blame retake and htl for it. They're trying to now shift blame to bioware montreal and austin for the focused effort of the extended cut.
I think you misunderstand me. I just wanted to know why it was free, after all this is the second time we get free DLC. EA and free aren't usually mutually exclusive much less twice in a row. As for SP I just don't like the facr that these weapons, missions and powers are not being made available to us but they are for MP. Why can't they do both? Do I have to resort to modding when I finally start playing SP again?
I agree with their decision to not release any SP DLC but weapons should be for both regardless of the circumstances and yes I know this sounds like typical BSN complaints. I guess part of it has to do with not knowing anything about the EC and my skepticism.
oh, my apologies.
It would help tremendously if they included the dlc's for multiplayer into the single playerc campaign, as well as give any information on the extended cut. I can understand the rational behind it, they want anything they add into the dlc to be a surprise, and it wouldn't be too far of a strech to say that there is a chance the extended cut will come with the multiplayer weapons and equipment as well.
As for the part about it being free, I think it's a multitude of things. Bioware is still bioware, they still care about the fans and want to show that any way they can, making the dlc free is one of those ways. EA also want's to look good in the press and depict themselves as not being anti-fanbase in it's approaches, so it's allowing the free dlc as a bit of good pr and to help clean up their image after the worst company in the world fiasco. Another fact is that the store for the multiplayer has the option of being purchasable with real money, this means that they can still make some profit, though not much since they also allow in game credit and make it easy to earn and collect as well, unlike other microtransaction games where earning in game credit is made next to impossible or not offered at all. They may also be trying to maintain peoples interest in the game and buidling up credibility so that people give the extended cut a chance.
So it's a whole multitude of reasons, none more than the other, that is creating an atmosphere of customer and fan freindly practicies to take place.
Personally, I couldn't be happier, free dlc that's normally worth at least 400 microsoft points( 5.00) in my opinion.
But what I'm really looking forward to is come july or august, that's more than likley when information about what's in the extended cut starts to slowly leak out onto the internet.
