So it's still early enough in development that they don't have enough to show yet? This has peaked my curiosity and intrigue.

1. I believe a late summer or possibly even midfall release in now more than likely.

2. They are either creating so much new content for it that it's taking this long, working on writting expanded content so that is is short yet brilliant and patches the plot holes, both, or neither.

In any case, more time is always best. Glad they're trying not to let the outside world events distract them from working slow and steady, also that EA hasn't put deadlines on the EC to have a preview at the event.

Chris didn't  say that. He just said that they didn't have anything to announce.

"Final Hours of Portal 2 and Mass Effect 3 are now a dollar off for memorial day in the App Store."

I like the one done for ME3, interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes...

Asked this because I remember hearing that he would do it:

"Still planning on an update for the #ME3 Extended Cut DLC?"

"Yep"

Does it bother anyone that we have to wait for the actual ending, even though ME3's wait was long and hard enough? It does bother me, this shouldn't even be happening at all, I can't believe we have to wait about 3 extra months. If they knew it wasn't finished they should not have released ME3 in March.

Except not.

Me too, but that's how things go sometimes, screwed up.

Splinter Cell 108 wrote... If they knew it wasn't finished they should not have released ME3 in March.

Deadline and other stuff that we'll never know, probably.

The only thing the staff doesn't grasp (even if it's as ineffable as a rock) is that we need constant news on this matter or we lose interest in ME3 for good.

I enjoyed when Mike Gamble said that his remarks were criticisms, not "complaints". Yeah, Mike, please enlighten us on the merits of the english language. What an euphemistic crap. Is he lost on irony or something? Or is he so heated up with the whole shebang that he found himself just annoyingly collecting complaints about other games in a tu quoque irritated venture? "So they say ME3 is bad.... wait for those idiots to see these other games from these other companies..."

It was finished. It's just that a lot of fans still have questions so they're doing something about it, and the amount of time they're taking makes me think the FREE extra stuff (I know, that's my opinion about it being 'extra') is going to be pretty awesome. We should all go out and BBQ as much as humanly possible before the EC comes out.  WHO'S WITH ME!!!!????!?!?

What do you seriously expect to see for the EC before its released? A trailer or a preview for a bunch of cutscenes?

Still shots or a clip during priority earth.

"It's been bugging me for years, and now with Future Soldier, they've made it bigger, rather than more streamlined."

I just wanted to voice my opinion on this specific comment. Some games don't need to be streamlined to draw in audiences or become successful (case in point, TW2). DA2 tried to appeal to the "mainstream" crowd and lost a lot of what made the original special.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

If you want to take an IP and change the game mechanics to what is expected - make it a spin off - don't call it the same game and stick a 2 or 3 or a 4 on the end of it.

More often than not it ruins the series.

How was DA2 a spin of?

Most things were almost the same.

..er...It wasn't. Which was my point. Even a lot of reviews that came out afterwards said - If it was called Kirkwall: A dragon age story or something people wouldn't have been expecting more of the same and it would have been judged on its own merits as opposed to a massive split in the fan base.

A good example of this is C&C - instead of using all the Generals idea and tech and calling it C&C3 - they called it C&C:Generals and made it another game series - to great acclaim. They made a whole bunch of new stuff - called it C&C4 and killed the series.

If you want to really experiment with the art, the mechanics and the soul of the game - make it a spin off - it won't damage other parts of the franchise that way if it fails, and you might just pick up a new following.

You were talking about mechanics a moment ago, now its about the soul? Or both... because if it's the former then I'd disagree. If it's the latter, then I'd agree to a certain point. If it's both...well I'm inclined to say no.

This isn't the first concert of these guys: There's a previous album that featured ME2's Suicide Mission.

I want to be best friends with the guy on twitter who said (paraphrasing) "You're not important enough to be evil... you're just a guy who's not good at his job".

Then Chris replies with an insult better suited for a 3rd grader in 1987.

That is #winning!!! Charlie Sheen, eat your heart out!

In my view, you are a very sad individual for wanting to be freinds with a failtroll.

Games don't have souls.  Games are merely tools to suck the soul out of overly affective gamers.

It's a good thing that I highly value your opinion.  :wizard:

For the record, I'm not what you'd call a "people person."... I have no interest in setting up a play-date. Saying that I want to be his friend, was just a silly way of saying I enjoyed his jab.   It was much better crafted then the epic-fail response, that's for sure.

I won't lie. Very late Summer/Fall release would worry me. As much as I want EC to be good, I also fear that each month it takes away from the 1-year window after ME3's release means less other SP DLC. There's a limited time you can release DLC and make it succesful, few companies do anything new for year-old games because most people has simply moved on and wouldn't buy anymore DLC for "old" games. At this point I expect no more than 3 major SP DLCs after EC... :/ Hope I'm wrong but :/

Hell no. Mass Effect has the best music in the gaming industry. Listening to The Normandy Reborn and Suiside Mission 2 years after you still get chills down your spine, and ME3 lives up to those scores. The Skyrim theme is just... weak.

True, but you forget that the song they'll be doing from mass effect 3 is going to be the sad piano music from leaving earth and the endings.

And given the choose between that and a song I really like and can get pumped listening to I'd have to go with skyrim. Also I have a bit of a bias for songs involving chiors and super large explosions of symphonic magnitude.
