Mike has a tendency to get kind of huffy. Just ignore him.

They're working on something that's: a) free, and resource-heavy; and B) will be delivered to a mix of skeptics, optimists, and an angry horde lifting their pitchforks.

I'd probably be a little edgy too.

There would be no need for resource-heavy content, and there would be no mix of skeptics, optimists, and an angry horde lifting their pitchforks, had they released a game with a good ending.

Its not like there is a group of people who don't like the ending and you "wait it out", till they give up and go away. You made a game with one of the worst endings of all time (about same level as Ghostbusters on NES), your devoted fans make great arguments WHY its bad, give ideas how to FIX a series they love. Around this time they should go like "ok guys, we may have dropped the ball, give us time to fix it". I've read somewhere that Dombrow and Weekes, best writers from Bioware, are working on Extended Cut. It's great news, we would be happy to have a civil disscussion about this content. Instead, we are treated like spoiled children, that need strong hand to cool down. "I've told you already, I'll buy you candy later. Now leave me alone".

Had we accepted RGB endings, Casey Hudson would be posting 10/10 reviews all the time, talking about great job everyone did, asking what content we want for DLC "You are co-creators of the game, I mean, look at Tali blah blah blah PR talk'.just look at his Twitter after release, when they thought "Hold the line" will give up after week or two. One interview he was like "oh yeah there is a small group of people are very emotional, we wanted the game to end that way". Quarter of the year later, people are still raging. Time to change PR tactic, I think. No PR book ever taken into account group of fans so devoted like ME, and all they say is "wait it out, than promise something, then use diversion".

So we had a month of silence, than "Yes, we are listening", than "EC is coming", then some "help design Mass Effect shoes". Its.not.working.

Honestly, I would NOT expect to actually have any "discussion on the content" of the EC DLC XYZ ABC (and any other acronyms or letters I can stick in there).  The actual content is going to be a secret until it is released.  I understand that.  I COULD see some generalities concerning the content.  That would not be untoward or spoilerific.  KNOWING that some proven writers are working it/have worked it is/would be good news.  Info indicating that it is or will be vetted by peer review inside would be better news still.  Take NOTHING on faith there Bioware guys ("Oh he's a good writer.  Whatever he writes is OK by me."  No....READ it and THINK about it and its implications in game and by simple logical extension).

As for Mass Effect shoes...I have them:  bdu.com/mens-converse-8-rapid-response-ct-sz/sage-green

Probably something about the five billion games she's working on. Other voice people haven't been shy about telling they were doing stuff for ME3.

Yeah, and it wouldn't be necessary if they had done things right from the start. I for one don't believe the artistic integrity excuse, I think they didn't give the ending enoufh time. I don't condone some of the things that some people may have been doing as a result of the ending but I certainly can understand why it happened and why BioWare can't say it doesn't deserve it.

No amount of words can nullify ME3's endings. Only a good EC can do it. So I advise everyone to stop spamming and wait for EC. If it's good it's good. If it isn't.... well too bad. It's not as if it's an easy thing to do.

Because it isn't. And in that respect, I do have respect for BW.

Until the EC comes out however, ME3 endings will suck. And no one's words could change that.

Raging, lighting verbal fires, and putting them under the gun won't get folks the "product" they want, either. They're still creative individuals, and creative individuals need a less-volatile environment to get their work done.  Let 'em work.

That's neither here nor there though, really: fact being, and the point of my comment is, anyone would be a little edgy under those conditions. Saying "they deserve it" doesn't help matters or answer anything.  Hurling insults would be one thing; wearing a little frustration on your sleeve is another.

Agreed.

At first, I was with the mob. I was angry, I was sad, I was frustrated, I wanted answers, I wanted hope. But then the mob started rampaging and just behaving like that, a mob.

Now I'm still angry and sad about the ending, but I'm a worker too, I know what it is to have so much pressure on.

Imagine how much pressure are they under right now? This is a one shot thing. This has to be perfect, or as close to perfect as it can get. This only and sole piece of narrative/programing/audio can turn the tide on a 500k
user red sea.

The "They wouldn't be like that if they did it right the first time" argument its cruel, and its just the kind of attitude that keeps them away from the forums and from us, the fans.

In a company this size, you have an amount of juggling to do that down right blinds you sometimes. Error, usually, in this chaotic and pressure heavy environment, its just waiting around the corner.

Now imagine, you are trying to survive this situation, you're making an effort to make amends, but when you look outside the window, the mob its still out there, ready to lynch you. Would you open the window to hear their enlightened views? You would be blindsided by a wave of insults, lack of empathy and right down cruelty. You have no will to open that window. Not until the mob calms down and is ready to talk, not scream.

The power of customizable, open-world video games as a coping mechanism is pretty incredible.

Had a parent die at the end of last year, and playing Skyrim actually served as a great way to escape from the everyday. Makes you feel like you're someone other than yourself for a spell, and do something you can actually control.

That should be the power of any type of entertainment in general in trying to get your mind off of something bad.

Not any type. I feel that the interactive medium deals with this much better.

My mum died so I'll play a game where all the cool characters Shepard hangs round with die or get stuck in the Sol System and probably end up dying too.

I don't get it.

It didn't say it made the person feel good, it helped them deal. It probably took their mind of their troubles for a few hours. Guess this goes to show what someone writes and what someone reads are not entirely the same thing.
