There would be no need for resource-heavy content, and there would be no mix of skeptics, optimists, and an angry horde lifting their pitchforks, had they released a game with a good ending.
Its not like there is a group of people who don't like the ending and you "wait it out", till they give up and go away. You made a game with one of the worst endings of all time (about same level as Ghostbusters on NES), your devoted fans make great arguments WHY its bad, give ideas how to FIX a series they love. Around this time they should go like "ok guys, we may have dropped the ball, give us time to fix it". I've read somewhere that Dombrow and Weekes, best writers from Bioware, are working on Extended Cut. It's great news, we would be happy to have a civil disscussion about this content. Instead, we are treated like spoiled children, that need strong hand to cool down. "I've told you already, I'll buy you candy later. Now leave me alone".
Had we accepted RGB endings, Casey Hudson would be posting 10/10 reviews all the time, talking about great job everyone did, asking what content we want for DLC "You are co-creators of the game, I mean, look at Tali blah blah blah PR talk'.just look at his Twitter after release, when they thought "Hold the line" will give up after week or two. One interview he was like "oh yeah there is a small group of people are very emotional, we wanted the game to end that way". Quarter of the year later, people are still raging. Time to change PR tactic, I think. No PR book ever taken into account group of fans so devoted like ME, and all they say is "wait it out, than promise something, then use diversion".
So we had a month of silence, than "Yes, we are listening", than "EC is coming", then some "help design Mass Effect shoes". Its.not.working.
