Personally, I don't think that changing the name would have made a bit of difference for me if it still included 'Dragon Age'.

And there's no way Bioware would drop that part because DA:O was an awesome game with a deservedly great reputation. DAO made the brand valuable and pre-sold a ton of copies for DA2 on the strength of that experience. Brand recognition is a big part of why sequels usually sell more than original chapters in an IP.

Actually, I find your responses moderately amusing, but frankly, I'm rather bored while waiting for a patch to finish downloading. But yes, you go on thinking I'm "butthurt" if you want. *pats you on the head and gives you a cookie*

Ahh, I see, so bored, in fact, that you couldn't be bothered to go post in a thread you might actually like. Yes, clearly your boredom dictated that rather than post somewhere enjoyable, you had to come in and stink up a fun thread just because it wasn't lavishing a game you liked with praise. What can I say, I clicked on a thread at random, saw the somewhat unrealistic idea that BW might somehow suddenly change the name of the game and then saw a silly supposition later in the thread that the company just decided to...what was it..."slap a 2 on the game" or something to that effect? I proceeded to roll my eyes as an expression of disbelief - woops! *hands you another cookie and some warm milk too* Maybe that'll cheer you up since you're so put upon by minor expressions of disagreement?

Calling this game DA2 was a deliberate choice intended to convey the message that it is (was) the future of the franchise.

It's too late to change the name now and by all indications it's too late to change direction for now.
