So I was playing through ME2 last night, went to get the Reaper IFF, and took the Cain with me. Once I got to the room with the ME core, I fired up the nuke and nuked the bastard. And that was it. No fighting the husks. No running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to avoid being cornered by the husks lol. And yes, this was on Insanity.

So in my opinion, this is definitely one of the most effective uses of the Cain. What's yours?

There's a mission where rogue YMIR mechs are destroying boxes, and you get paid at the end of the mission based on how many boxes are left.

If you fire the Cain just right at the beginning of the mission, you kill all 3 mechs in one shot and the boxes are unharmed. That was the only time I felt like I used the Cain well.

Played on Casual for the lolz and hit the Human-Reaper Smack in the eye for 8/10 of it's HP. Game. Over.

The Reaper IFF is definitely a good use for it. But if you fire it straight away you will miss the few credits in the room lol. Credits are credits /wrex.

Killing multiple heavy mechs at once, for example the aforementioned N7 mission, the Blue Suns False Distress Signal N7 mission, and the end of Garrus' loyalty mission. It gets pretty sticky otherwise.

Has anyone else managed to land a Cain directly in the Reaper Baby's mouth?

Either I got glitched (two games in a row, at that, both on Veteran), or this really does one-shot the thing.

Yes, I was goddamn lucky. Aimed for the chest/neck area, and the way it kept moving around the mouth got in my sights the moment I launched.

I want to see if this is possible on Insanity, but I can't believe I've done this twice already. Probably never gonna happen again... >.<

The human-Reaper. That thing is one agile bastard. Almost missed most of the times.

I think I have only used the Cain once on Haestrom against the Colossus, though. Mostly because I have like 99% at that point, and I don't feel like eating machine gun sandwiches to get to the power cells.

That's the only time I ever use the Cain. I'm just drawn to the nade launcher or the arc projector.  Even then I hardly use heavy weapons, just prefer the standard firefight I guess.

Human-Reaper for 2 reasons: 1.- It kills him duh & 2.- Don't know if it's a glitch or something but it's a cool glitch: The light of the explosion remains in the cutscene, as with sounds and cinematic in slow-mo, enhancing the epicness for 50%! Try it, awesome!

Is there a vid around there killing the Human-Reaper with the Cain?

I use the Cain in these situations:

At the end of Garrus' loyalty mission;

Against the Human-Reaper;

On that mission with the three Ymir mechs;

Against the Geth Colossus;

On the final Blue Suns mission (Disable False Signal, I believe);

Against the Overlord;

Against the Thresher Maw.

Sometimes I use it on Jedore, Wasea or another humanoid boss for the lulz.

The Cain is my favorite Heavy Weapon, BTW. I usually have it equipped at all times, even when I know I'm not going to use it, because it's just plain cool to be the guy with a nuke launcher strapped to his back.

Exactly this. In fact, I made a video showcasing the idea, which you can watch in the link below:

This is one of the [very] few instances where the Cain can actually be reasonably used.

On insanity, the first fight aboard the collector ship was ridiculously difficult. I usually fire the Cain at least once during that fight.

I'd say my most effective use is probably when I accidentally killed myself during the shadow broker fight, as shepard's harder to kill than any enemies encountered :)

Ok, against enemies, umm, I don't use it that often because of the ammo reuirements, so probably a horde of varren

1. The mission with the YMIR mechs destroying the valuable cargo.
2. The ME core on the derelict reaper
3. Any time a Praetorian shows it's ugly face.
4. In Garrus's loyalty mission where the two YMIR mechs drop on you right before you get to harkin.
5. Thresher Maw
6. Human Reaper can usually be killed in two shots from it.  harbinger drops ammo for it when you kill him.
7. The final fight with the Geth Prime in tali's loyalty mission.
8. The gunship in Samara's recruitment mission.
9. Whenever I'm pissed off and I want to give someone an atomic suppository.

Hi,

In Garrus loyalty mission, the two YMIR mechs at the end, being an adept (on that particular walktrough) and not having selected Miranda, I just nuked the monsters. Saved me a long and tedious combat.

Primary: Reaper Mass Effect core, for sure. Get swarmed by as few husks as possible! (Especially when you're an Infiltrator! XD)

Secondary: Reaper larva. If I don't have enough for a second shot at it, I'll take off half its health from the get-go, then whittle it down with my sniper and assault rifles. Samara's Reave is also quite handy.

I like the Cain but I can't help but feel it's overkill. I usually only take it on "the Long Walk" against the Scion and Husk rush inside the bubble and against T-800 once it's health in under half. It's a glorious explosion if you use it as the killing shot on Arnold.

I do like the fact that when I go to the citadel I'm walking around with a clearly marked tactical nuclear weapon on my back.

I once used it on that B**** 'boss' at the end of Samara's recruitment mission which was sheer overpowering joy. A nuke on one annoying asari. I just wish I could've nuked the volus that charges at her along with it. (Like a great...."wind")

Also used it once on a sidemission, I think Jaob (don't know for certain) where all these dudes come swarming out of the entrance of a base -> NUKE -> silence. Beautiful.

And of course the dead floating lazy reaper core, because I HAAAATE fighting husks (even though it's ridiculously easy if you have two or more biotic party members).
