SQUADMATES:

"Twelve was a big number in Mass Effect 2 - almost too big", Hudson concedes. "We're focused on a smaller squad with deeper relationships and more interesting interplay in Mass Effect 3' he explains.  "We're not going to have twelve again but we are going to do more with the characters on  your squad including Liara, and Kaidan or Ashley. And we're bringing everyone back - every main character is in Mass Effect 3 somewhere"

So was I right again?

Note how Casey Hudson left out Garrus and Tali. They are playable.... cameos. Maybe quite extesive cameos, but possibly not even overlapping within the story.

Personally, I hope for Legion to be able to occupy that hypothetical "cameo slot" on the squad for a couple of missions.

Except that both Garrus and Tali have been confirmed to be squadmates in ME3.

Yes, Garrus is a playable cameo, which is why he has been completely re-designed and featured as a SQUADMATE and not a cameo in every source of info we have so far. Tali was also only recently confirmed.

Sorry, but this is just ridiculous.

James Vega was also confirmed to be James Sanders.

And a while back Ashley had been confirmed to be FemShep.

But James Vega's character was a WIP, so much so there are no images yet. Garrus and Tali are established characters. And him being James Sanders was true at the time.

And Ashley wasn't "confirmed" as femshep, that was a crappy article that lacked background knowledge, but it doesn't mean that the stuff they have that says "Casey Hudson says..." is invalid.

Finally, I think Kaidan and Liara are jsut the current poster characters, which is fair as Ashley and Garrus were the ME1 poster characters. You're looking too deep into this.;)

Game Informer, that seems to have had the most exclusive access to BioWare so far described Garrus as playeable "to some extent". And AFAIK, the information about Tali comes from a single "crappy article".

Taking things out of context I see. Just because he did not mention them in this specific article nut they were previously confirmed and how is renaming James Sanders into James Vega even related to this. It is still the same character just with different surname likely because it fits the VA they found better just like they did with Miranda ...

Honestly, i have a hard time dismissing this due to your infuriating habit of being right all the time. That and i really disaprove of people who 'know' how the game is going to work out after a single vague article, and completely reject any theory that goes against their own. *cough*mostpeopleonthisthread*cough*

In the same list that included Ashley/Kaidan, Liara and James Sanders/Vega, who you aren't saying are cameos. You also ignored my part about the re-design. Ashley and Kaidan only cameo'd in ME2, and they weren't re-designed. Wrex and Liara both just had generic armour/clothing dumped on them (till LoTSB, anyway) and only Tali and Garrus had real redesigns. So why re-design a character just for a cameo?

Well, Chud said something which definetly sugests Tali will be a squadmate.

This is what I wrote about it in same thread on page 9:

So let's see.

3 squadmate we will have( Liara, VS and James), and 2 that ma die( Garrus and Tali).

I'm sure will have 2-3 more new squadmates and since there's gonna be less then 12 of them then only 4-3 old ones will join up Shepard again and that's only if there's gonna be 11 of them.

I am sad since Legion will probably won't be permanent squadmate since he's not a LI.

Also, playable cameos?
WTF?!

Lol, actually I was expecting this to instantly become a flame bate. Good to see the rage is in stock and abundant as always on this mighty fine network.

Now, can we maybe please suddenly all grow up and give a chance to a discussion here?

Joker was 'playable to some extent' in ME2, and it is hard to consider him a cameo. In DA:O you at one point near the end play a group of your companions independantly from your main, which is a similar concept.

You are taking 'playable to some extent' as if it is exclusive of being a squad member.

Grow up? As in create a thread to stroke your e-peen based on your personal assumption?

I think the level of maturity in this thread is spot on for the subjectImage IPB
