Well, wouldnt it somehow "unfair" if Garrus and Tali are fulltime squadmembers in 3 games?

With tali, she is is at least popular enough for that,b ut garrus?
I would bet that wrex was far more liked then garrus.(and still wasnt part of the squad in the second game)

No, Garrus is liked. Not as much as Tali, but he isn't anywhere nearly as much disliked as she!

Wrex is screwed for good, much more so than Kasumi or Morinth.

Thank you Zulu. This was hilarious. Not as hilarious as Elite Midget's thread yesterday, now that was utter gold. Still, you made an excellent follow up. You're a funny guy.

You should think about starting a comedy duo with Elite. I'd pay to see that.

We've got several confirmations from magazines, from BW's staffers via Twitter and the Garrus's character design with an Alliance uniform visible under his armor. Yes, keep barking, it will change the facts for sure [/sarcasm]

The statement Hudson made doesn't say team dextro are cameos both are squadmates and we know at some point Garrus will be playable similar to how Joker was playable in ME2.

Look near the neck, same kind of uniform visible under Kaidan's armor. Not that I expect a serious reply from our little barking mascotte.

Except the Reapers and Cerberus. That's why they are raging and working together.

Lol maybe that is what sends TIM over the edge.... Shepard is not just back to working with the Alliance, but the Alliance is openly accepting non-human citizens and officers,

Er Bluko. Tali has been confirmed, by Casey himself, to be a squadmate.

I've seen his tweet.

Not entirely convinced that's what he meant.

Seriously, Casey did say she would return, but at the same time didn't fully answer the question. I'm still in the camp that she'll be a temporary squadmate.

Yeah, and Kaidan is a spectre, remember? And maybe it's just the latest thing in fashion. Haute Couture '2187.

Yeah, I can only hope his role/cameo in ME3 will be pretty big. Like Wrex will be leading a Krogan army and get to do some badass stuff. A small sliver of me hopes he'll even join me temporarily to kick some Reaper butt in a single mission say on Tuchanka or something. But probably not.

See you can't really blame my reasoning. I mean look how they handled ME1 characters. If a character could possibly die, all they got was a cameo. Even if they could live (Liara), they still got slotted to a breif cameo. So yeah go figure some of us assumed they'd do it again. I mean what makes the ME2 crew more special then the ME1 crew? Pretty sure they only threw in Tali and Garrus at the last minute as sort of mere fan-service (well maybe not Tali with the whole Quarian thing, but for sure Garrus).

And honestly I think the only reason Tali and Garrus are being brought back as Squadmates in ME3 in some fashion is sheerly due to their fanbases. I believe Hudson himself said he didn't think of Tali or Garrus as real exceptional, but when they saw all fan devotion basically decided Gee we better throw these guys in ME3 otherwise the fans will kill us!

Makes me wonder if say back on the old forums had people created Support Wrex threads, could Wrex have been playable in ME2? (I don't even know why they allowed Character Support Threads, much less created a subsection for them. Should have been all locked as spam.)

I mean why are Garrus and Tali always with you? The only reason they joined you in the first place was to stop Saren. The only reason they joined you in ME2, is because apparently they didn't have anything else to really do. Niether one actually plays a vital role in stopping the Collectors other then the suicide mission role, which can be filled in by other characters anyways. And what exactly makes them so special? It's not like either one knows anything special about the Reapers, etc.  They know as much or less then Shepard does.

It just annoys me to a degree that something like a character's fan popularity can possibly determine their role in the story. I didn't realize story creation was a Democratic process by the fans. Come on Bioware grow a quad and do this stuff Authoritarian style! Kill off all the characters! Let the fans hate us as long as they fear us...

Want all your squad back? Buy the Collector's Edition! Or buy this DLC Pack. But only if you Pre-Order now! You won't let Thane die just because you didn't Pre-Order now would you?

@Bluko: Friendship. Like Liara, Tali and Garrus honestly trust and care about Shepard, regardless of romance. Spock, Bones, Ron, and Hermoine weren't exactly plot-essential, either, but sometimes the role of "bro4life" is enough to merit a return.

Wrex's character arc will forever be hampered by the fact that he's tied to the hip with his alternate reality brother Wreav.

Was there any big difference between the two with regards to the Krogan in ME2? Nope.

Actually, there was a pretty huge difference between Wreav and Wrex.

Wreav is a crazy tradtionalist like Uvenk.

I fail to see how a few alternate lines is a "huge difference". Uvenk's gang and Clan Wehrlock still scheme against Urdnot.

Well that's what I'm thinking too. Same with Garrus.

I don't know how all else they could actually include them without also creating a substitute character. Creating a substitute character for  few missions is also a lot easier then doing it for the entire game. (Less voice recording time, less money needed, etc.) I mean Bioware has limitations, the DLCs should be proof enough that Bioware doesn't have unlimited resources for that sort of thing.

It's not just you. So far really no characters have been solidly confirmed as perma-squaddies. Some of them have been strongly implied. For others, namely Tali and Jack, we've just gotten vague confirmation that they will be in the game.

Liara returned in ME2 and her story arc continued, but was she a real squadmate? No. The same can be said for Wrex.

The whole setting on Tuchanka is implied to different. Like none of the clans being united under the Urdnots (They're just in a stalemate with Uvenk)

Yeah but all that is cosmetic. Clan Urdnot is still the top dog and the whole female breeding thing is the same.

The whole Wrex/Wreav thing is the same situation as with Kaidan/Ashley. Two different characters being pigeonholed into one general role to save time and effort.

Plot says Wrex has more important things to do.  Garrus and Tali, meanwhile, are losers with no lives.

I don't even like Tali and I caught on to the whole "Boy, I'm stuck with you forever, aren't I?" thing just by playing ME2.  Never even encountered her fanbase or popped into the forums.

This was all foretold.

If you want everyone to survive the suicide mission Tali and Garrus (along with Jacob) are needed for their ship upgrades.
