so I just watched the last ever episode of Stargate Universe and possibly the last chapter of Stargate ever... a good show that grew to become great and died far too early. with Caprica (a bit iffy at points but good overall) and V (a see-saw show, some good, some bad but had potential) already dead and buried it seems there just isn't that much sci-fi TV left anymore. there hasn't been any Star Trek since Enterprise, Babylon 5 isn't even likely to have any more TV movies (it's Crusade spinoff being another show that died without ever getting a real chance) and now Stargate is gone with no spinoff planned and apparently plans for TV movies all cancelled

so can anyone recomend some good sci-fi that's still alive? I've tried Dr Who and just never got into it for some reason. someone in US TV networks obviously thinks that reality TV and WWE wrestling count as sci-fi but shockingly I disagree. so I'm struggling to find something. there's still good shows on TV (thankfully Castle's been renewed, House has it's ups and downs but remains a good show and Game of Thrones is good so far) but there's a sci-fi shaped gap in my TV watching habits

What about going back to some of the older stuff, like Space: Above and Beyond and Farscape? Or Eureka, that's pretty science-y.

i couldn't connect to Misfits, which is a shame because those of my friends who have seen it tell it's a good show.

I didn't care for Bashir so much. He wasn't portrayed as a very strong character, not like Kira, Dax, Sisko, even O'Brien. And speaking of Dax, I wish Nicole de Boer had had more time with that character. She was so cute!

What about The 4400? It's the story of 4400 people abducted by aliens over the last 60? 100? years, who all miraculously reappear in the same place in modern day. Each abductee starts exhibiting powers. I enjoyed it a lot more than Heroes.

Anyone watch Haven? is that any good?
