I've looked for a while and haven't found an answer, so I feel the need to ask.
When I started the platinum pack, I loaded all three games. I didn't adjust any of the defaults, and I ran every patch.
I have Windows 7 Home Premium, AMD Athlon II 640 quad core, AMD Radeon HD 4200 vid card.
One day, my keyboard stopped doing what it normally does. I underswtand that's vague, so let me try to explain: I use z, c, and i a lot, as I'm sure everyone does. Not they seem to cycle through my skill bar instead of bringing up the character sheet or showing me what the interactable objects are. Instead, I use one of my bard's songs or try to cast a spell. Or sometimes nothing happens until I hit it a few times.
Does anyone know about this? The game isn't unplayable, but it's annoying. I've tried remapping my keys, and that hasn't worked. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
What happened to my keyboard?

Sometimes my keyboard stops working. When that happens, I use the mouse to bring up the control menu (icon in the bottom left) as soon as I do that, the keyboard starts working again.

That's how I get my character sheet and inventory open now. Esc, enter, and space still work, but nothing else.

I have the exact same problem. It happens regardless of which keyboard brand or type I'm using. I'm running XP and have the platinum, fully patched version of NWN2.
The keyboard only start accepting input again after you click on the GUI menu with the mouse. That is, until it happens again shortly thereafter.
I've seen this problem elsewhere, and it degenerates into a conversation about keyboard drivers and never gets solved. I have no idea what causes this, but I know it's not the keyboard. The only way to find out is to gather similarities between those it affects.
One theory I have is that it has something to do with add-ons to the GUI, such as the XUI one, which is one of the few I've used. I haven't tried uninstalling that and seeing if the problem remains, because I don't want to lose all my customizations, but if everyone else with the problem also uses XUI, they should speak up.

I'm running Vista 32 fully patched. It only happens to me maybe once a week.

So you're not using ANY add-ons at all, then? No fan-made downloadable material added to the normal patched install?

Both of you should be aware that a Radeon HD 4200 is not an actual video graphics card. It is only a Chipset video chip, mostly related to the HD 2400, with added functions from the HD 3450.
The minimum PRACTICAL video device from ATI is the Radeon 9800 Pro. Here that is compared to the HD 3450:
www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php
That shows a performance on the order of 65% for the HD 3450 next to it
Here is the HD 2400 Pro side by side:
www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php
That's about HALF of the performance.
Next, comparing to the practical recommendation, we have the X800 Pro and the 2400:
http://www.gpureview...1=525&card2=301
That's about 30% of an X800 card's performance!
Here is the HD 3450 compared to the X800 card:
http://www.gpureview...1=555&card2=301
That's roughly 35%, and the 4200 is in between the 2400 and the 3450.
It seems to me that forcing an extra low end part to work so hard is bound to cause all kinds of problems, like serious overheating, that affects every aspect of running a PC.

Thank you for the information about the Radeon 4200.
And I figured out a "fix" to my problem. When I hold control, my keyboard works normally.
