No, Wrex isn't confirmed to be a part time squad member, people are just speculating by interpreting a statement from a BioWare dev a certain way.  I interpreted the same statement to mean that Wrex will lead the Krogan army at the end to fight the Reapers.  You may get choices on how to deploy your armies much like choosing people for roles in ME2's suicide mission.  My speculation on the game is that in ME3, we will be out recruiting armies instead of recruiting companions.

I actually get the impression that beyond three or four permanent squad members, most of the missions will be LOTSB style.

Which I'm fine with.

It is bullsh*t that Tali is in all 3 games but hey you can kill her off in 2 and she will not be there in 3

They need him more than I do. I think BW will do the smart thing and not even put him in your squad temporarily.

     



If They put Grunt back on the squad then Wrex can handle his business on the Krogan homeworld . I want a krogan in the squad in 3

personally i didnt expect wrex to be a permament squad mate, he will be our link to having the frogan as allies, as the leader of the krogan

Bugger. I love Wrex and Grunt just can't compare to his awesomeness. Of course, I'd rather see Wrex help his people but.. darn it if I have to choose between helping Mordin (and the salarians) and Wrex then.. I'm going to end up losing Wrex. And this is the playthrough where I don't have Tali either. Slowly losing all of my ME1 team-mates

Not really, because we all know that he has far more important things to be doing than galavanting around on the Normandy. Temporary squadmate is absolutely fine by me.

I highly doubt it took you that long if you were complaining about spending points on charm/intimidate. Unless you spent like 55 of those hours in ME2. And if you felt like it was wasted why did you play it that long? You don't even know his role so stop assuming he is going to be the new VS in ME3.

I never said there *wasted* just how many time i took ME1 took me 20 hours and ME2 and ME2 45 hours because of sidequests,doings,dlc etc for getting crdits,armor too i didnt want to have a crappy  vanguard

the DEVS already explained his role just see the OP

Wrex is a busy Krogan, he will probably be leading the Krogan in Mass Effect 3...he doesn't have time to run around with Shepard and kill mercs and whail on Conrad Verner lol

They can't make him crucial to plot, but they can give him LotSB tratment within ME3.  LotSB is the standard for ALL ME3 missions.

know what i would I love in ME3..... squadmate unlocks for NG+. meet certain conditions...unlock a extra squadmate. maybe it can be generic krogan, generic asari commando, or generic batarian engineer with set powers/skills. they dont have special dialogue like the other squadmates and they dont have special missions. they do however have generic banter while on missions....nothing special. this way we can all get that extra squadmate without Bioware having to throw in "extra" junk to justify that squadmate. ...and the more unlocks...the more incentive to play over and over... rather...a little something special for those of us on our 5th+ playthrough.

Shep: oh hey there squadmate, whatchu doing on the Normandy?
Generic squadmate: OH i was on the station the trial was on and was just looking to escape.
Shep: oh thats cool. you can tag along.
Generic squadmate: awesome!

I don't think the fact that Wrex can die in ME1 should count as barring him from much of anything, especially since whatever it is we're talking about, Wreav would just end up taking his place as evidenced by ME2.

Take Garrus and Tali for example -- possible fatalities at the end of the Suicide Mission and yet confirmed squadmates.

Of course Wrex very likely won't rejoin us. But an LOTSB-style mission? Sure. I think it's quite fathomable, especially since, once again, Wreav would probably just be there instead.

 Sadly, I don't think (even though I would like that) that he will be a party member in ME3, which is kinda unfair, because every other party member from ME1 will be a party member in ME3, accept him . Maybe if Shepard completes the mission for krogans, Wrex mobilizes the krogan fleet (not sure whether they have one) and helps Shepard, and then maybe Shepard will be able to choose whether to add him in his/hers party. That would be awesome, but hard to pull of, since Wrex has to keep krogan tribes from killing one another. Maybe he could appoint Urdnot Vreav (I misspelled it, didn't I?) as his temporary replacement, but that's just speculation. I just hope that we, the fans, will be sattisfied (I wouldn' want to see him in the game for, like, ten seconds. That would be dissapointing.<_<)
