It has been the question a lot of Vanguards ask themselves when picking a bonus gun since the dawn of man(or the dawn of Mass Effect 2 I am no scientist, I just use Wikapedia and its never wrong) both are weaksauce if Vanguard Shepard had this...

Sure its way overpowered but like the Cain sometimes you want to make an impression.

You didn't watch the video did you?

The gun is a fully automatic shotgun with a 20 round case. Hence why a Vanguard wants it.

There is a video out there with a modded Claymore shooting with Revenant RoF and having an extended clipsize of twenty or so. with eighty or so in reserve plus increased pick up.

It makes Husks seize to exist is about as close as you get describing it.

THAT is what you want.

I've gone through Insanity three times, and I still need practice with that reloading trick.

As it is, my Vanguard game needs a lot of help. -_-;

Well I never quite got used to it on the xbox, but I don't think it's impossible there. Just lack of trying for me. I'm finding it pretty easy these days on the PC though. You can learn it quickly if you try hard enough.

The most lacking part of my vanguard game is self-control. To avoid charging when it's too suicidal. I also need to learn how to spot the situations where Charge will fail beforehand. There are certain places in maps where it'll always happen, and I haven't found all of them yet.

When I played Vanguard on insanity I didn't always use my Shotgun.

Mainly on Horizon when I was out of ammo half the time and I'd use my SMG to take down the Scions. Charge to dodge their shockwave, back off firing away.. repeat as needed.

Honestly, my overall impression of the Vanguard is that it was more bells and whistles than practical powers.

Charge is one of the most powerful abilities in the game, bordering on overpowered.

The ammo problem is solved when you get your shotgun ammo upgrade. Doubles ammo for shotguns and twice the amount per pickup. In my current game I haven't run out of ammo for the Claymore once.

You and me both. But that's because I like Charge so much that I can barely wait to use it again.

@Volus Warlord

I hardly ever use any other weapon besides the shotgun, when I play Vanguard.  Mostly only against enemies I can't reach with Charge.

Somehwat hard to understand what she's saying when she has a shotgun stuck between her teeth like a big black...uh, yeah.  Family-friendly forum, no place for Bill Hicks references.  Disregard, please move on.

Who needs that when a Vanguard already has the Tempest? Hmmm?

Charge, overpowered? Not from what I remember, but then again I haven't taken the Vanguard class for a spin in awhile...

In an effort to be diplomatic, I said "bordering on overpowered" :)

But I don't want it nerfed or anything, I love it the way it is.

I think everything is overpowered once you learn the maps and synergies with the powers. Charge has a wider range of skill though. You can only have so much of a skill gap with Combat Drone or Tech Armor spamming.

Yeah Charge is something you must learn to use. But then when you find yourself successfully blasting through a map without even taking cover, you start to realize just how powerful the ability is.

Charge is the perfect signature ability. It has a learning curve that's steep, but when mastered, dramatically increases killing speed/survivability. Vanguard is my favorite class: Charge, Charge, Charge! Infiltrator and Assault Armor Sentinel are close seconds, but that's really because I love CQC. Soldier w/ Claymore is next, and then the casters. Adept and Engineer would be up there if I had more hotkeys, I really hate pausing to use a power.
