I am running into a issue with these achievements. I am no where near the end of the game and have Nature of the Beast, Landsmeet and what ever final stuff is in the main game. I have 566 Darkspawn kills on 1 character and have not got the 500 kills achievement. In the Xbox 360 Dragon Age: Origins forums someone said there was a bug in the last patch that came out for the game and that I need to delete the cache and play offline to get the achievements. Is this true? Is there a patch or way that I can get these achievements without deleting the cache and playing offline? I would really like to 100% this game before I go on to Dragon Age 2. Thanks

Well I guess I am on my own on this one along with a lot of other players. Obviously Bioware has wrote off Dragon Age:Origins and wont be maintaining the game from this point on. Really sad that a company with as big of a reputation as Bioware cant continue to maintain what they make. My family and I for sure will not be reserving Mass Effect 2 or any other Bioware games a until Bioware can do what we pay them to do.

Not sure what you were expecting to be honest. There is no official support on the forums whatsoever, though a dev may crop up once in a blue moon.
You've already noted a possible solution which you seem reluctant to take. If that solution works and you don't want to use it, I am unsure what alternative can be applied if indeed the patch causes a problem. The only (supposed) recourse is one you are rejecting.

I tried to delete the cache and play the game offline but when I did so it said all of the DLC was corrupt as well as all of my save files. Which is the thing that I see people mentioning the most. I also sat and saved before a area that there were a lot of darkspawn and kept killing them and reloading but still nothing. So I am between a rock and a hard place here. What am I wanting is what everyone else that is having the same problem...to fix it. Its pretty weak that they make these forums and then dont use them to help out people that have spent money to buy their product. Might as well get rid of the forums or at least the tech support ones cause there is no reason for them if they dont help.

The PS3 version also has the same problem with Blight Queller , seeing as how PSN has been down for over 3 weeks i should have been able to get the trophy but it hasn't popped up so playing offline does not seem to make any difference.

OK. I hear the two of you.
Given that the offline route is pretty much the only available solution it seems to me that the next step would be to get your game working offline. Now, being a 360 owner I can't offer much advice to you, Brixxer (for obvious reasons); but hopefully with some back and forth we might be able to find a solution of sorts for you Teddymouse.
I want to try and establish why you can't play offline. (I play exclusively offline and got the achievements before going online; and I only go online sparingly usually when there is a new dlc I want to get.)
First question: have you ever changed your 360 since downloading dlcs for DAO?
Second question: if 'yes' to the above, have you performed a content license transfer? If not, then...
http://www.xbox.com/...eMigration/Home
Third question: if 'yes' to the first question, have you recovered your Gamertag? If not, then...
http://support.xbox....er-profile.aspx
That should provide a starting point. Depending on the precise issue as to why you can't play offline (it might be something else), that could solve the problem and allow you to gain the achievements that way.

1. No I have not changed my 360 since downloading the DLC's from the Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition. I just started this game a week ago I think.

OK, picky on grammar time.
Have you ever changed 360s with your current Gamertag?
It's just that dlcs should work offline (otherwise I would never be able to get all achievements), and the most common problem tends to be the changing of 360s, and a mismatch of Gamertag cross verification (if that makes any sense).

Ok I just got it tonight. What I did was I got to the battle for the Alienage near the end of the game. I talked to the girl and then saved my game. I then put my party on hold position. I then took one character at a time and killed darkspawn till all my party was dead or the darkspawn were dead then reloaded the game. It took me probably a hour and a half and 7-8 reloads but I finally got it. To answer your question though...no I have not moved my gamertag. I have it on a memory card with all my game saves and info but has been in the same xbox for over a year now. They really need to sit there and be more descriptive when putting info on the achievements. I know they can be limited on space when they do it but that one has plenty of room to add more text. Enough ranting since I now have the achievement. Hopefully my info will help others if they run into the same problem I did.

What they should have done to keep track is what Valve did in Left 4 Dead. Have an in game achievement tracker that keeps track that we can check as we play the game. >.> Oh well nobody is ever smart with these things.

Supposedly one of the patches messed up the blight queller achievement. Originally the achievement was supposed to be 1000 kills across playthroughs, not just one. That makes it hard to do since you won't see 1000 darkspawn without dlc in a single playthrough, and your warden has to get all of the kills themself.
As it is, reloading seems to do the trick, as the game will keep adding to the darkspawn kills total, even after reloading and playing through areas multiple times. You can have 1000 darkspawn kills with one character and the bio screen could say 800.

Hello community, I have some great news for you all! I am like many of you trying to get my platinum trophy and screwed over by the Master Warden and Blight-Queller trophies. After many trials and errors and a heaping helping of research I have made a discovery! The trophy is not bugged at all, it is just not properly worded!
The darkspawn counter that shows the number killed in your heroic accomplishments counts kills made by all characters, whereas the counter for the trophy counts ONLY kills made by your player-created character WHILE being controlled by you.
So for instance if your character makes a kill while you are controlling Alistair that will not count towards the trophy, but will count towards the Heroic Accomplishments.
The easiest way to get the trophy is to get to the Final Battle, and after the first battle area when you talk to Riordan to choose your party, choose to take ONLY yourself into battle.
1.) Immediately travel to the Alienage
2.) Tell the elves to leave
3.) Turn the difficulty to Casual
4.) Save
5.) Clear out all darkspawn
6.) Travel to Palace District
7.) Defeat short battle with party members left behind
8.) Clear out all darkspawn in Palace District
9.) Reload at Alienage
10.) Rinse and repeat!
~Note~ If you die fighting darkspawn, it is not a big deal, the counter WILL count the kills ou made before you died.
I have confirmed this myself (On PS3 only, but I am relatively sure it will work the same on Xbox), please pass it along!
