It's pretty much certain that we're going to Orlais in DA3 (Bodahn and Sandal are going, "the stone rests beneath Orlais" etc), but would you approve or disapprove of going to Tevinter for the expansion that will probably come eventually (we may simply get lots of DLC in Kirkwall)?

I think it's more likely to be the other way around; Orlais in an expansion, Tevinter in the new game.

 Personally, I would prefer the Tevinter Imperium to be given a game of its own, but Bodhan has so far being present only in main titles, so 3 is most probably in Orlais.
 That said, the Tevinter Imperium sounds like a good place for an expansion, and a logical choice for Hawke's story to take place, but it should be done right. Minrathous is supposed to be an enormously big city with tons of knowledge and political intrigue.

A mere expansion won't do Tevinter justice.

New game in Tevinter. With class (and maybe race) being the Origins. Warrior / rogue would be a commoner who can rise to power to become say one of Tevinter's greatest generals and a trusted friend of the Archon, butting heads with a few magisters in the process (and others wanting to use you for political leverage). If mage, you start off as a pupil to a Magister, and rise through the ranks to become a Magister lord if not an Archon.

That would be awesome. And If it happens, it would finally wipe the bad taste DA2 left in my mouth. But it probably won't happen.

We go to Tevinter to get away from the suicidal mages(they didn't take advantage of all the Templars being funneled into one spot or try to set the Templar's wooden boats on fire as the Templars tried to reach the Gallows) and the Templars.

Just to go to a place where homicidal mages rule?  Remember guys that being successful in Tevinter means being an evil soulless bastard.  I'm not sure that Bioware will send us there unless they intend to give us an option to change the way Tevinter is run?  That would be a little lore-breaking for me at least though, seems like Tevinter is the kind of place where they would just kill you if you tried.  Don't get me wrong, I love playing evil or "renegade" characters, but in Tevinter that would pretty much be our only option.

I think the other cities in the Free Marches (Starkhaven, Tantervale) or other minor towns (Hercinia, Markham, Ostwick etc.) are more likely as expansions.

DA3 should be in the Anderfels, though.

I'm under the assumption that the next game will take place in Orlais... so yeah, I'd love to get a sneak peak at Tevinter. Hopefully we eventually see a full game there as well. Possibly DA4?

Although I have no idea why Hawke would want to travel to Tevinter in the first place... if Bioware had a story lined up, I wouldn't object.

I would love DLC in other Free Marches city/states, though if the past is any indication new cities are only in Awakening-level expansions. I imagine it's quite the investment if it isn't just going to be a palette-swap of Kirkwall

Tevinter seems more tempting than Orlais, it could give a three-faced confrontation: Masters, Slaves and Chantry of Orlais. I hope this time, Bioware feed our DA adiction with DLC's and take its time for developing the really awsome game that we deserve. Or our fidelity will run far, far, far away....

It seems quite set to be Orlais. Still, I kind of hope for something different. Sure, visit Orlais, but I just am not interested in Orlais right now, for whatever reason if it has to be the ONLY place we visit, a la Kirkwall. If it was more like DAO where there were numerous places, SURE! I would like Orlais, Tevinter and Anderfels..... eventually anyway. =D

I would mean "Tevinter seems more tempting than Orlais.. for DA3 better than expansion"

For this last issue, Orlais with Leliana and the champion (as the end of DA2 point), Fenris' escape at Seheron beach and next 3 years... The champion working for King/Queen of Ferelden,.. but an expansion about Anders... well, if you don't kill him, maybe.. anyway It would be a kind of Justice-Anders reencarnated in another body......
