Now we can speculate whether they will be the same quality as ME2 or the cheesy ones like its predecessor

There's no reason why they can't be more like the ME2 DLCs.

ME2's Overlord and DA:O's Golems of Amgarrak are very similar DLCs. They're self-contained stories about the protagonist trying to clean up the mess from some horrible experiment. Both end with a boss fight that showed BioWare was tweaking their boss fights (which is good, boss fights in ME1 and DA:O were just normal enemies with more health).

However, Golems never engages on any emotional level. There's a bit of a gross out when you see the Harvester but nothing about that story grips you.

Overlord has the Archer/David storyline which you have to be cold inside to not feel for. That emotional beat at the end of the DLC completely overshadows the rest of the DLC, in my mind. Was it nice to have a big hub world to pilot around in the Hammerhead? Yeah. Was it cool to have a boss fight in the Hammerhead? Sure. Was getting your eyes hacked raise interesting questions for ME3? Sure thing! But that ending? That's all you're going to talk about after beating it.

Very similar DLCs story-wise. Horrid experiments on fade spirits and casteless bodies and horrid experiment on geth and an autistic boy. You show up, clean up the mess....very different levels of quality.

But I get the feeling that both teams spent DLC as an experiment to see what they can do with it. The ME2 DLC's started off slowly too. And they never finished their Companion Outfits because of fan backlash against them. And they stopped giving us one-piece armor and finally gave us some modular armors we could mix and match with the N7 armor.

There's definitely a learning process with both game's DLC. It's just ME2 had better DLC. Although their last two DLC have no choices in them, which was done to 'lead in' to ME3. Would have been nice for a choice or two though. If Shepard's on trial for something shouldn't there still be a choice of what that is? Lair I can't complain with, it was Liara's choice. Makes no sense for Shepard to decide that one for her.

i think the expansion will most likely be orlais or starkhaven. where DA3 will be tevinter story where they are at war with the qunari... and i think that in DA3 if they go an use tevinter they should do something like this...

1. like for instance if you could be a slave of ur mage master or a magister with ur very own personal slave/body servant that will help u and defend you as u quest/ war with the qunari possibly even freeing your slave in the end or for those diabolical people enslave a family member an force them in to a conflict where u kill them or make them watch as you enslave their family... the possibilities are endless!

2.or actually be a Qunari (fully customizable) and start as a lowly soldier and gradually work your way up and as you level you get more party members under you(other qunari soldiers who are like minded or whatever)...and dont forget the possibility of rejecting the Qun... and just causing mayhem on all fronts! i could see alot of great possibilities with this idea and actuallhope they do this! it be nice to play as the quanri for once and learn more about them in my opinion...

and for an expansion idea..

1. id like to continue the pursuit of starkhaven. i think it has great potential there as well. it could be some real gritty dark stuff... i see alot of possibility for ruthlessness here... dont know other than being sebastian or the champ how you can have multiple storylines... but given time im sure i could think of something.

ah well just some ideas i had... sorry if my ideas are similar to others i posted this before i read thru the thread.. Image IPB

The problem with Orlais is everyone would have to speak with a French accent. That would get old fast.

This is what I want in DA3:

1) Many long trips to the Deep Roads, and I want completely new stuff to be down there
2) 10% of the game should be different trips to the Fade (make it more like the Fade in DAO and DAA than the pathetic excuse we saw in DA2)
3) I want Sandal as a dwarven mage in my party
4) I want a Qunari in my party (complete with horns)
5) I want to visit the Qunari homeland
6) I want to build up an army for something or build something, or collect something
7) I want Wardens in it
8) I want an epic storyline with a real and serious problem to solve and I want it to be clear what that problem is
9) I don't want to see any more templars

Also to add, I believe the the DA 2 story did have purpose and a good one too. DA2 built up hawkes reputation/infamy in a very realistic way. Where as DA:O, you were launched into a position of respect only by the fact that you are a Grey Warden. I think the continuation of hawkes story will have far more realism and will be far more touching to the fans out there.
Just look at the time lines. you have been getting to know hawke for ten years in his rise to fame. With the warden, you've gotten to know him/her for maybe 3 years. that leaves a 7 year gap.

It will be a far more touching and relative story if it is continued through the champion. I believe that his/her struggles are far more in tune with the player.
I have gotten a little off key with what I'm trying to communicate. The base line is that DA 2 is just the building block in a far more rewarding story. This might go a little far but it think Hawk will be the equivalent to a commander Shepard. Here is my reasoning,

The dragon age origins story created far too much variation in the Playable Character. Too much to possibly base a story after. My theory is that DA:O was just a way to introduce the Dragon Age world to us, the consumers. They created an epic storyline to draw us into the series.

After drawing us into the series they made the game that made hawkes rise to fame, just as ME 1 made shepards rise to fame.

I see hawk as a figure head of the DA series now because its just hawk, you don't have 4 or 5 different variations like in DA:O.

Now that hawk is known and they have started a conflict/uprising they have a character and problem to develop even further, on top of that they have us emotionally hooked to our beloved hawke, just as they had us hooked to shep.

Bioware has a lot of juice to work with now and they are literally just starting the series. Let me know what you think of my theory and feel free to nitpick and ask questions.

I'm gonna actually take this and make a thead for this cause this is getting off topic.  http://social.biowar...4/index/7425643 Go there to say your comments :wizard:

I think we're going to Starkhaven or dare I say back to Ferelden.
