If it was not for My country the USA half the sh*t that goes on in the world would still be happening if the world didn't come crying to us here in the USA for help .  We are the ones get sh*T done in the world . The pathetic cowards at the UN lknows that .

Nobody is shocked, the OP was wondering about a non-existent contradiction between ME1 and ME2. If you've played ME1, you clearly know that Cerberus was black ops Alliance at some point.

You're right, they US does get **** done. Hell, without Reagan giving weapons to the Taliban during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan they would still be small beans.

If it hadn't been for Reagan we might not even be having this bloody and unwinnable war in Afghanistan right now.

Kahokou tells you they were Alliance black ops that "went rogue" in his transmission after the Missing Marines quest. How they managed to do that and become so large in the process could be another problem, but I haven't seen enough info to speculate on it.

Cerberus is an integral part of the alliance as said before the are unofficially part of the Alliance, without the alliance Cerberus would have never gotten started Cerberus has people in all levels od the alliance and earth gov, they will dominate the galaxy at the end of ME 3

No. Shepard and his team Saved humanity.
Oh! But Shepard was brought back to life by Cerberus. Shepard couldn't have done it without them!
Shepard only died because of the Collectors. If it wasn't for them it's arguable that the Collectors would have been eliminated much earlier.
But... Cerberus help design the Normandy! And the SR2 > than the SR1!
Yeah. The SR2 was a nice touch. And yeah, Cerberus pushed the Alliance to co-develope the first Normandy with the Turians. If it wasn't for 'dem aliens' and 'dat alliance' we wouldn't have the Normandy as we know it. And with two years it is probable that the SR1 could have been upgraded farther than the SR2 has been upgraded now. Sure it won't be as large, but size isn't everything. That's why we have a frigate and not a cruiser.
Plus if you really want to pull that card, that just means that Cerberus were the ones who helped convince the Alliance to prototype Shepards part-time ship before copying the designs and building a bigger one, and promtly having that ship lost to the Alliance. They were in no way the ones who put the nails in the Collectors/Reapers coffin.
Okay... but did all those scientific experiments to advance technology to a point where we can hope to face the Reapers!

Cerberus gave you intel and funding as well as a direction to start from!
Intel could be gotten from the Council, the Alliance and/or the Shadow Broker. The Council and Alliance are capable enough to have large intelligence networks. Hell, they are better funded, they probably are better than Cerberus at that if they put their minds to it. The only problem with those two is the fact that they have to support so many people (Alliance is in the billions, Council is probably around the trillions. There are a LOT of people in the galaxy) so that they cannot divert 90% of funds towards one team. That said, if they did, the war would have been won already.
No the Shadow Borker poses a problem. Without Cerberus, you couldn't replace him with Liara. Fact. Yes, Cerberus did good. But notice how the only times Cerberus accomplishes something is when Cerberus just gives the Intel to someone else for them to do it. Anyway, now that I have the Shadow Broker, there is no reason to have Cerberus anymore. But seeing as Liara is a squadmember in ME3, then I'll bet the SB network gets taken down or severely damaged.
As for funding... I had 9,999,999 credits in an account that earned interest at the end of ME1. What happened to all that? Okay, okay it was probably given away in Shepard's will, but all he has to do is go back to the Alliance and he'll have funding. Plus, that mining company Shepard runs in his spare time must be pulling in millions from contracts to mining locations alone.
Cerberus does give Shepard some rather nice directioning though. Trap of a friend, trap for shepard, inside a Reaper that can still indoctrenate people, suicide mission, ect ect. That said, Shepard did come out of those alive.
