Wait, people don't like the armour shelf plates?  But...but look how it adds to the character's silhouette!

I kid, this actually looks pretty sweet.  I dig those gauntlets you gave him.

Those are the DLC mage gauntlets, actually :)

Okay, tmp7704 has informed me that he's working on an update to his Lightwave plugin, which should be ready in a few days. Once that's out, I'll be able to resolve all the little quirks and hopefully get something out that you guise can use. :)

Okay, I need some testers. Any volunteers? I'm running into issues with the bones, and I'd like to see if the problem is with how I'm editing the model or with my game specifically.

The testing being starting up the game and seeing how they look? I could just about manage that, I think.

Okay, download the file "Isaac Edit.zip" here. Put the .erf in "packages/core/patch" and tell me how it looks. Take a screenshot too, if it's not too much trouble.

That goes for anyone else who wants to help, too. Thanks! :)

I come bearing goodwill for all. Also screenshots. People that aren't Ish will have to settle for the goodwill, sadly.

The front!
The back!
The combat-from-the-side, with a shield!

I'd have taken shots in a less gloomy location, but I don't actually have a male Hawke to use. Hopefully it's clear enough. Are these what you wanted?

Yes, those are perfect. Unfortunately, it looks like the bones are screwy for you, too, so something must be wrong on my end somewhere.

I really wish I could figure this out >.<

Okay, it looks like it is a problem with the game, not the model, after all. I'd love it if some more people could try out the file so I can get a clearer picture of whom it works for and whom it doesn't.

Never mind. The issue is DX9 vs. DX11. It works fine in DX9, but the DX11 renderer screws it up.

Ehhh, I needed a break from animation anyways.

Confirming that it is a DX9 vs. DX11 renderer issue.  Below are screenshots with DX11:

And screenshots using DX9:

And if I may be allowed to give a bit of a critique, I'm not a big fan of the golden "v" on the front chestplate.  It's such a graphic design--not to mention it's a light valued element next to darker values--that my eye just goes straight to it.  In short, it's kind of distracting.  It might be better to just texture it as a metal plate with a few scratches/dents here and there.  Here's a quick paintover in Photoshop:

Yup, I don't think it's going to work unless BioWare release updated MSH and MMH processors.

Since that's not so much a "bug" as an... "engine limitation," let's call it... I'm releasing this.

As for the V on the chest... that's there because of how I edited the mesh and because I don't want to edit the texture. I'm in the process of packaging up the final release, and I did something different in my edits, so the V is gone. There's a barely noticeable seam with the default textures, but the Dark re-tex covers it up and looks very nice, in my opinion.

Yeah, there's actually not a big difference in quality from the medium setting to high, so I wouldn't mind dropping down to DX9 to have this mod.

Any chance of having this for FemHawke?  She's the only rogue of out my characters and it'd be nice to have this mod for her. :)

It's clearly the male equivalent of women "eyes up here bucko" t-shirts.  Except guys being guys want the attention down and below the belt.

A teaser:

I'm gonna come out and say that the mage gear is really annoyingly modeled. I hate working with it. So, that's all I'm doing tonight. I'll maybe refine it tomorrow and get the female armor done too, and then I'll release it.

It's just the mage armor, warrior armor, and Isaac armor that has the chest-shelves you people hate so much, right? I haven't forgotten about anything?

Very nice! Thanks for your efforts, Ish! :) I didn't mind the armor shelves too much, but your verions are very well done alternatives.

I hope you do not mind the 'Ish' abbreviation, btw... your full user name is a mouthful :P

I'm not exactly sure how I can support your modding if I don't play DA on my PC.

But, my thoughts are with you? Yeah, that sounds nice.

This looks excellent, thank you for all your hard work!

Really a shame about the dx11 issue though, don't think I could play the game without my high res textures and vh settings :P
