Is it really fair to attack the GI preview of Ashley as being dramatically oversexualized?

ashley was a hot brunette in ME1 and now shes a hot brunette in ME3. thats ALL i see here, so whats the fuss, really?

This is the type of Fans Bioware is pandering too. The ones that only think with whats in their pants.

The people that are complaining it seems, just have a problem with the breast size, at least that's what it sounds like. And if that is the case, your being just as superficial as the people you say Bioware is pandering to.

Every female in ME, had the exact same body, with the exception of Benezia.
The casual wear aboard the SR1 was form fitting on the upper body, the outfit you see Ashley wearing in the new shot is form fitting at the top. And that's all you know. You have no idea what portion of ME3 that shot was taken from. You have no idea what occasion was going on in that shot. in short.......

YOU HAVE NO IDEA!!!!!!!!!
Your speculating and raging over something you have no clue on what the context of it is.

Sorry I went on a little rant there. :P

How was it irrelavent, you said they didnt listen to their fans, I gave you two examples of them listening to the fans. The reason they didnt make a VS DLC is a mystery, yes, I cannot answer that. But they did listen to the fans. Here are some more examples.

Wanted different ways to go about a mission, stealth or shoot. Arrival did this, poorly, but they tried. The wanted shepard to have her own feelings, LOTSB did this, very well I might add. They wanted vehicles added, again guess what. Firewalker, Operation Overlord, and LoTSB did this. More open environments, Overlord, better scenic views, LoTSB. I could keep going on and on.

As for supporting her getting a catsuit. Meh. I don't, id rather have her have armour In battle but I see no reason to believe she is wearing this in battle just because they did it before (and people didnt like it). They wont repeat the same mistake twice over. As for Ash being over sexualized, nah, she just looks more like a woman and less like a man now. OH NO MAKEUP.

It was irrelevant because you ignored my example of Isabella and Miranda for DA2 and ME2. Hell, you didn't even mention the ME2 example and just went with brushing DA2 one off because it was a convient out.

That you had to pay for. Bioware has no reason to add those into the base game when they can just charge you later for it with via DLC. That's why Fans have to make their outcries known as soon as the leaks start so that there's a chance that Bioware will listen and change the problem.

So that isn't Liara wearing her non-combat armor in combat in that GI screenshot? Oh wait, it is! So why would they give Ashley a catsuit on the ship and armor in combat if they can't even do that to Liara who had armmor in the PS3 version of ME2.

Apologies my friend, I will then acknoledge your staement of Isabella and Miranda. Isabella it makes sense, she is a very open woman and likes to flaunt her sexuality. Miri again likes to use her looks, she says it actually. Everything is meant to give her an advantage. Her biotics, her intelligence, her LOOKS.

And in regards to Liara, I think it is because they already had that one textured out and it looked good so there was no need to change it.

And yes I had to pay for them, but they arent going to be all of a sudden, alright new game back to ME2 stuff after all the critical acclaim of our DLC, especially LoTSB

My issue with some of the remarks in this thread is that Ashley putting make-up on is a sign of confidence or something and I find that wholly wrong.  I can't help it.  It's like this whole time you lived as you were and now that you're confident you're going to put on a different face?  I thought confidence was about owning up to who and what you are and not trying to adopt a new facade or persona since not having confidence in yourself would entail hiding, subterfuge, obfuscation, or misdirection.

That would apply if you think that Ash did not wear make up or find make-up evil. I always thought that Ash did wear make-up in her personal life but did not wear it while on duty. If she is a spectre then she will not feel the same restrictions that she would feel as an Alliance soldier.

Confidence can impact people in different ways ... Look at someone who has lost weight, someone who is headed out on a date with something that they really, really liked or a person who got that job promotion. Part of who we are is visible and as people change you can see that on the outside.
Not sure how applying make-up equals "hiding, subterfuge, obfuscation, or misdirection". Damn that Max Factor! Image IPB

It's the idea that now that you feel good about yourself you're going to put make-up on with the idea of 'accentuating' your features.  I'm of the mind that confidence shows through regardless of whether you put make-up on or not.  It's something I don't understand and strikes me as really odd.  As for my comment about hiding: I'm sure you've been on a supermarket line and seen photos of celebrities without make-up on and how drastically different they look.  I don't think it's as drastic as they presented it, but make-up does alter someone's look.

I'm thinking that the make-up is throwing you ... yes? Hopefully when you see her in the game it won't be as bad as you think. Image IPB 2012

in regards to original post/topic question...NO it aint fair. it is just one pic!! for all we know that is the body suit she wears under her armor. to stop chafing? extra eva protection? dunno yet...cant form a solid opinion based off of one picture...concept art.

It's a bit more than that.  Yes, it's one pic of Ashley, but we've also seen pics of:

Shepard
Liara
Kaidan
Garrus

All are wearing armor.  Heck, Kaidan's armor looks awesome, exactly what I'd think Ash should wear.  Shaped for a female body, of course.Image IPB

But while the other VS looks ready to go to town on the gangs of Omega all by himself.  Ash looks ready for a night on the town in Omega.

Hair is fine.  I liked the bun better, but hey, loose is good too, as long as it's pulled back when wearing a helmet (she will get a helmet, right?  Right?)

Makeup...honestly, her face looks slightly different, but that could simply be a change in resolution.  Whatever it is, I'm fine with it.

Bust size change: meh, not gonna get too worked up about it as long as they avoid taking gratuitous shots of it like Miranda and Samara had.

But the outfit...sorry, I draw the line there.  Ash is a soldier, she wears big armor, fires big guns, and looks good doing so.  She does not trade fashion secrets with Miranda.

^ This.  I have no real problem with anything but the outfit from a practical stance.  Will it kill the game for me? Not at all.  Would probably just bug me for a bit.

This sentiment is really over the top:

Ashley is now Isabella 2.0 and Miranda 2.0 who did the fusion dance together.

Basically Bioware has turned Ashley into the biggest **** in their recent two game series.

Really? Biggest slut? REALLY? Give me a break.

You've read nothing and have made a baseless assumption. Learn to read because I'm getting tired of correcting the igorant on this matter. People are mad because Kaiden has Heavy Armor now and Ashley, he wore Heavy Armor for two games and constantly mocked barbie doll chicks like Moranda, is now a Barbie doll in a catsuit.

I point to...

Leaked Miranda and Isabella. So many were ignorant like you and lied to yourselfs to cope with Biowares oversexualization. You were proven wrong than and you're proven wrong now. Learn from your mistakes already.

Isabella slept with anyone and everything. Miranda was made to be the most sexually attractive woman in ME. Thus they took the worst of Miranda and Isabella and threw it up all over Ashley and called it a 'redesign' while Kaiden just got updated graphics and heavy armor he could never wear in ME1.

WTF? sl*t? really? Just because she is showing some clevage and has some makeup does NOT make her a sl*t. I doubt her whole view and opinions on life will change because she is in as you call it, a sl*tty outfit. Come on guys this is getting ridiculous.

I'd rather have Ash wearing a sexy form fitting catsuit than her ridiculous pink and white armour she wore in ME1. Whoever came up with that deserves to be hanged, drawn and quartered.

Yes it does. In ME1 and ME2 she would never wear such tings into battle. Bioware has decided that Ashley was too boring thus they have retconned her into the biggest **** in to the ME Series to get more sales.

I think the quote you're looking for is when Shep Ash and Kaidan are looking our at the CItadel:

Ash:  "Or maybe they just don't like humans"

Shepard: "Why not? We've got oceans, beautiful women, this emotion called love. According to the old vids, we have everything they want. "

Ash: "Yeah, well if you want me in a tin foil mini skirt and thigh-high boots, I'm gonna need dinner first... Uh... sir..."

Not exactly the same thing Image IPB
