Is it really fair to attack the GI preview of Ashley as being dramatically oversexualized?

Changes nothing. Samara mentions that she's been with many men/women and has had a couple children. Her outfit is inappropiate but since she's an alien Bioware was allowed to get away with it.
Merril has more cloths on her body than Miranda and Isabella put together.
Well good news for you! Bioware is ****ting up the women to show more boobies to appease your low sex drive!
Samara is also 1000+ years old and hasnt been tied down for 200+ years? and merril actually had less clothes then Miri, Miri just had a more form fitting suit. And ya MOAR BOOBIES. Bring on the skintight suits and BOOBS.

Has anyone really thought about how she may of just.. Changed? It was 2 years between ME1 and ME2, then we only saw her in an area which required battle armour. I knew really innocent people that over a 2-3 year period they have changed completely!
We also know barely anything about ME3, who says they havnt now got a battle suit and a casual suit for the Normandy to feel comfy? Other than that she still doesn't look attractive.
Some of these comments do make me /facepalm though, why do people get SO upset over such small changes?
Why would someone who hasn't suddenly changed in two years after ME1, suddenly do a heel turn in a few months? Changes that drastic don't happen like that. Especially when the core of her character rejected such style of clothing.

I'm glad to see you've come to terms with this, Elite.Elite Midget wrote...
Ashley of ME3 is the new Miranda and Isabella. Bioware is making of habit of having at least one woman get demeaned to sell sex.
You've finally at peace with Bioware turning Ashley into Miranda 2.0.
I'm proud of you.

It's more a matter that Ashley, who's a career soldier and practical woman and has stated that she prefers heavy armor, is suddenly wearing a skin tight outfit. Perhaps it's her casual attire, if it is, that's fine. The problem is that we thought the same thing about Miranda's outfit before ME2 was released.TheKillerAngel wrote...
Elite, are you one of those people who thinks women should all wear burqas because they need to protected from the demeaning gaze of oh so evil men?
It's just not something I can see Ashley doing. She's a practical woman, why would she not wear more protective combat attire?

While Midget is starting to lose into his frustration, please do not distort his point in such a way. It demeans you more than it does him.
He is just frustrated that what little info we have seems to point to an extreme character shift in one of his favorite characters, a shift that seems to be reflecting a lot of bioware's work lately and as such has him worried.
Its one thing to have Miranda or isabella dress as they do, their backstories and personalities fit what they wear. However such things do not fit with Ashely, especially considering all of her character and dialogue from the first and second game.

How do we know this is not a uniform as such that shes wearing at the start of ME 3 during Shephards trial ?
Because we've seen Alliance uniforms and that aint it (casual or dress). Even if she is a Spectre by her own admission being an Alliance soldier is, "in her blood" so the idea that she'd toss all Alliance conventions out the airlock at the earliest opportunity is a bit of a leap. I could see it as an underlay for actual armor but it just doesn't have the look of a uniform to me. Also form fitting leather isn't really appropriate for a trial but maybe that's just me.
DarthKaldriss wrote...
Also Bioware may have decided to dress your crew casually like Shep whilst on the Normandy. Just a thought.
After ME2 and DA2 I'm not holding out much hope. I didn't have a problem with most of the outfits but the fact is they wore the same thing whether they were on the ship, in combat, or exposed to vacuum.

It's less about what all women should do and more about how frequently this sort of thing happens to fictional women, I imagine. It's one thing to say there isn't anything wrong with a woman being sexually free in terms of how she presents herself or dresses... it's another to point to the media and notice how often they take advantage of that.

"Well, at least there are armor components at all," would be a better way to put it, I guess.

Ashley on the other hand is an alliance infantry soldier and proud of it. You should understand that abandoning her usual soldier attire for a body glove is something surprising. I would be surprised too if they released a picture of Jack with an Alliance armor. It's just not like her. But hey, anything for a wider audience.

Actually I'm pretty sure burqas are to protect noble men from the corrupting evil of a woman's body.
No body answered me last time so I'll ask again,
Define term: "sl*t", "wh*re", "tramp" etc...

They will ignore your post. If you try and be sensible they pretend you don't exist. Thus you must be up in their face and point out all the obvious reasons why their just wait and see approach isn't the way to go. It failed us with ME2 and DA2. Thus it's time to be proactive and let Bioware know that this isn't the way.

They mean "I'm a stickler for gender roles and traditions and can't make a point without bringing it up," mostly.
