 I have managed to find all of the hidden notes in Acts 2 and 3, but only 3 of the four supposed to be in Act 1.
The ones I have found are in The Bone Pit, The Gallows Courtyard and The Alienage in Lowtown at night.
Does anyone have an idea where the fourth one is?
My friend's book on the game said it's in the Viscount's Keep, but I can't find it anywhere. That was wrong about the whereabouts of one of those in Act 3 too, so am not trusting it on this missing one.
Please help. This is bugging me - yes, I know, it's sad

According to the wiki, it's in the northwest room on the right.

Actually, IIRC, there are 3 in Act 1, 4 in Act 2, and 3 in Act 3. I remember being shocked to find the fourth one in Act 2, conidering the achievement says "find 3 messages from the Band of Three during each act" or something to that effect.

What ones have you found in Act 2? I remember being surprised to find one in an out-of-the-way location in the Qunari compound.

Your friend is right -- it is supposed to be in the Seneschal's Office, the one near the Viscount's room.
It is a known bug, currently that codex entry on the PC is unobtainable.

There are four in every act (of which you need to find three for the achievement).

But it is obtainable on 360.

Ah, so it is not me or my friend's book that is wrong!
That's nice to know, even if frustrating.
I am just one of those people who has to find everything and do every quest.
The ones I found in Acts 2 and 3 were
Act 2
The Chantry
Gallows Dungeon during dissent quest
Docks Qunari compound
Darktown
Act 3
Bone pit during Justice quest
Gallows templar Hall - by one of the torches on the wall in one of the rooms
One during Gamlen's treasure quest
Docks during last straw quest
