Shotgun/Assault Rifle. Sentinels like the Soldier has the benefit of taking whoever they want on missions. So take your favorites with you. In my experience though, Jack and Mordin play really good off the Sentinel and Miranda makes EVERY squad set up better.

To the first one. In the middle of the game (Collector Ship) you'll get an option to pick a bonus weapon.

Weapon use is situational. Slow firing weapon like Pistols and Sniper rifles are effective against armor. Sub Machine Guns and Shotguns are great against Shields and Barriers. Assault Rifle is your jack of trades good at just about any range.

And Sentinels will breeze through Hardcore if you're good at the basics.

What I don't understand is I am currently at the class selection screen and it says I can only use Sub Machine guns or Heavy Pistols you saying every class no matter who you are even an adept can pick up 1 more weapon of it's choice?

Revenant.

The time my ME2 works sufficiently again, I will create Alternate Universe Shepards with access to "exotic" weapon lay-outs such as:

Sentinal wiith Revenant
Infiltrator with Claymore
Engineer with Widow

I am already drooling ...

For unmodded gameplay I propose the shotgun training later on and up to then Shuriken/Tempest.

Yes, but you can pick 1 more weapon category, but you can't pick the Claymore, Widow or Revenant as a sentinel. Those are special weapons for Vanguards, Infiltrators and Soldiers.

What weapon do you suggest for the sentinel?

If you pick up the Shotgun, the Katana or Eviscerator, because the point is to charge in close. Assault Rifle, Mattock or Vindicator. These are my preferences of course.

Geth Plasma Shotgun or Eviscerator. Not like you're stuck with one in particular if you pick shotgun training, so just try them out.

But yeah, pick shotguns, go nuts.

A quick Assault Sentinel guide:

Import lvl 60 ME1 Shep
Complete prologue and invest every skill point in TA (you will have Assault Armor before the first mission - @ lvl 6)
Buy tech upgrade (Omega or Citadel), Recruit Mordin (to unlock research), help Kasumi (tech upgrade 2), recruit Garrus (tech upgrade 3), research cooldown reduction upgrade.
All new skillpoints should go into passive power (to reduce cooldown)
At this point you should be around level 11 which means you've also maxed passive. Combined with the tech cooldown reduction research means you can activate Assault Armor every 5-6 seconds (meaning you're almost invincible)
Also remember that every time you activate TA will reset squadmate powers. So when you have Jacob and Miranda on the team, you can use them to Pull-Warp bomb and enemy, have Shep activate TA, Warpbomb again for free :)
Recruit Jack and Grunt > unlocks Horizon mission, pick up Zaeed and complete 5 N7 Assignments (like the Firewalker pack, Normandy Crash site etc)
With 6 crew on Normandy and 5 N7 assignment completed will unlock the Collector Ship mission.
Pickup shotgun training and you're done
This leave ~80 % of the game for you to play in near godmode.

Check my previous post - it's the fastest way to get bonus weapon training (you can leave Kasumi's loyalty mission to get shotgun training faster, but you'll miss out on the cooldown reduction which is really great for Tech Armor).

If you're on PC you can download an import from http://www.masseffectsaves.com/ to get a level 60 Shepard
And at the begining of ME2 you can change his/her class and looks.

No modding required unless you want switch a couple decisions around. Just download it and cut/paste it into a folder called ME1 in your Mass Effect 2 saves

When you start a new game you'll have the option of making a default male or female Shepard without import bonuses. This file adds a third option to import from ME1. Choose to import and the rest is self explanatory. You'll get a review of major decisions along with level, class, and background. Good luck.

Does importing this save make the game more enjoyable to play and does it give a lot more benefits?
