Of course nothing is confirmed, but I do hope myself that she is coming back as a playable squad member.  I've been trying to read the many articles and scuttlebutt to gather any clues on what might become of her.

I've come up with this so far as my "guess"...what do you folks think?

I think that while Casey Hudson said they're scaling back the amount of squadmates(http://gamingeverything.com/?p=4222) I do believe there might be that kind of option where there are "x" amount of recruitable squadmates but you can only take "y" amount with you on board, and these choices of who you take, etc. will be a big element starting off early.

For Miranda, she will be either with you if you turned on Cerberus (cause she quit ) This would nice and a good follow thru for gamers who chose this path in ME2 (simple reaping the benefits of ones' choice).

OR

If you helped Cerberus and thus are not fighting them in ME3, she'll be after you, however I'm thinking she'll be the "hesitant assassin" going after you and will perhaps have words, etc. with Shepard then part ways after a brief encounter.  If Shepard romanced her in ME2, perhaps that'll change things up...not sure myself.

I'm kinda rambling now!  Haha, sorry...I just have so many questions for ME3 (in a good way!) and thought it might be good to bring this up here.

PS--I know how strict forums can be re-posting a thread if there is already one up of the same topic, but some of these threads are long that have questions like this, and I don't have time due to work to find the topic and catch up on everything that's been said.  If this exact post/thread exists then in advance, I do apologize!  :)

Best regards,
Andrew

I predict that Miranda will be back as a full time squadmate in ME3, and just so you know I'm right at least 50% of the time.

You should ckeck out Miri fan Thread, they'll be your best bet for the discussion your looking for.

Inb4 ExtremeOne gushing his love for Cerberus despite it having nothing to do with the topic.

And I'd take Miranda as an XO again, she was quite competent in that role. Besides, Imma lovin' myself some Yvonne on the team.

Given Cerberus's pro-Reaper stance, it's likely she'll have turned on Cerberus in some capacity during ME3, an arrangement which could even potentially lead to her taking over the network Liara-style and steering it back to an anti-Reaper stance (EDIT: Bonus points if her previous conflict with Jack comes up in this scenario as well). The thing I'm interested in is the situation with Oriana--as Cerberus knows Oriana's location, it's possible they may attempt to use this to coerce Miranda, which could potentially lead to some interesting sideplot action.

SPOILER AHEAD

Miranda's storyline in ME3 should be divided into two major story arcs, IMO. The first one would be more focused on Cerberus with one of these things happening:

a) Miranda is doing her best to cause dissent amongst Cerberus's ranks. This would happen if Shepard blew up the Base.
b)Miranda is a double or even triple agent whose loyalties ultimately lie with Shepard and she is trying to destroy Cerberus from the inside out. Assuming, of course, that The Illusive Man's unlogical wrath is focused solely on Shepard. This would happen if Shepard preserved the Base.
c) Miranda could be blackmailed to turn against Shepard, temporarily of course. Personally, I don't like this one because if Miranda resigned, logically the first thing she whould do is attend to Oriana's protection which I hope just happened offscreen. So, unless Shepard gave the Base to Cerberus, I don' see this blackmail plot happening.

Or Miranda could have resigned from Cerberus despite Shepard's choice regarding the Base and we will re encounter her on whatever planet Oriana has been relocated to.
Personally, I think this would be a waste but maybe that's just me.

After the final confrontation with Cerberus; in which I hope there will be Shepard and Miranda teamworking to kill Kai Leng and the option to have Miranda replace The Illusive Man instead of simply destroying Cerberus; Miranda could become a permanent squadmate and the second story arc would be more Romance/Friendship oriented (it could even be Romance-exclusive and all LIs would have something similar), perhaps we could even finally confront Mr.Lawson. I can already see having to cut through an army of "Mirandas". Pure nigthmare fuel, rigth there. So much worse than the Human-Reaper.

You're fighting Cerberus regardless of your endgame choice.

Option C could go several different ways depending on whether or not you encouraged her to talk to her sister. Talking to her sister on Illium might make it exponentially easier for her to convince her sister to go into hiding. Whereas the "best for her" option backfires and makes it harder for Miranda to get Oriana safely out of Cerberus's way. (Ah, yes, "variables...")

From the way Miranda talks about dear old Dad, I suspect that Lawson Senior and TIM all hang out at the same yacht club.

If they are not one and the same.

Mr. Lawson =/= TIM. Miranda would not have worked for Cerberus if that were the case, as she joined Cerberus to get away from her father. She'd know that TIM was her father if that were the case and would've gone somewhere else (likely the Alliance).

I think it would be a nice twist if Miranda's recruitment mission involves you helping her rescue Oriana. You know, fly into (CONVENIENT PLOT PLANET HERE) to pick up your old friend/flame and you end up having to help her get Oriana to safety before she can join up with you.

I mean hell, we helped end a plague, took on three merc groups, tracked down an Ardat-Yaksi to get people, something as simple as booting Oriana onto a ship and getting her the hell out of Dodge should be a cakewalk.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to say thanks for all the great thoughts/opinions/ideas for this...it's nice to see a good discussion! You've all really given me things to think about; I'll respond later after work but I'm really hopeful if so many people's initial response to Miranda is positive for further development in ME3 and also the confidence she'll be a squadmate.

I can't wait! :)

If you gave the base to TIM, I really hope Miranda and/or Jacob try to kill you per TIM's orders.

Can be talked down if loyal or with high Charm/Intimidate of course.

Seriously, I want this. Like the Wrex crisis times ten.

I want many things for Miranda in ME3 which i shall now list
1. I want more conversion with her about the romance and hows she doing as i thought she had very little to say...Also i would be nice for the rest of the crew to talk about the romance to give the feeling that you are her love and everybody knows it
2. I want her to to be as strong as she was in ME2 as i love her strong will and the fact shes not a push over..i love a good and strong women :innocent:
3. I would like her to have a bit better weapons like an assault rifle as in the cut scenes on the last mission every squad mates holds on including miranda
4. Cat fights are required..end of..... ASH VS MIRA!!!!!
5. I know she is no longer going to be second in command as she is for one not working for cerberus anymore in mine as she quit :wizard:.. and the fact cerberus has turned against shepard and the human race and i know my miranda would never join that!!!
6. ASS IS REQUIRED AS WELL!! ( not as important but would be nice )
7. I want to hear more about her life story about her sister and father..amyby a mission involing him in some way?
8. I cure for her sterility in ME3 would be very welcome!!!! i want to have little perfect children ^^
9. Yvonne has to back ( but am 99.9% she is so forget this one )
10. Also if you have to recruit her on a mission i would realy like it if she would react diffrent to people who romance her like that she could jump into your arms and have a big kiss would be awsome!!!!!! to other people where she would not care and fight with jack ^^
11. I would think she would be a key ally to take on Cerberus as she was very high up in the ranks and just left just like that..i think tho cerberus won't like this!!!
