I'd like a special kung-fu type move to be executed when a cloaked inflitrator melee's an enemy from behind.

Mark and Execute might be cool, if it's done right.

So this is kind of a big if but, if certain guns can have a silencer replacement for barrels I think it would be nice if the cloak effect lasted a bit long upon firing that weapon before it completely wares off. Would be an interesting Infiltrator synergy with that kind of thing.

Failing that definitely a power upgrade for the cloak that extents the duration it takes to 'fade off' once you start firing to extent how long you have the bonus damage for. Or you know, both of them heh.

And yeah I agree with Mark/execute like thing but I feel like it should be a cloak-only thing or something thats pretty weak unless cloaked.

Also I've said it before but some kind of assassination melee move (not just a normal canned animation). Though with all the kinds of monster that may have to be a 'humanoid only' type thing to limit what you can actually neck-snap/throat-cut/whatever auto-killy.

But I'm sure the Infiltrator will already have something like that due to each one getting a special unique power melee attack.

I like the hologram idea, i'd also like a melee kill whre you use cloak(but you know with a coolanimation) like kasumi's but hellovalot better...or a special two or three sniper kill with some cool animation....

I would like for the infiltrator to have the sniper rifle of course but to have an emphasis on close range assassinations and cqc as well. Sure sniping from stealth is cool but when I hear "infiltrator", I also think like the Spy from Team Fortress as well as the Sniper.

Perhaps a hologram camo that makes you look like an enemy so you can sap enemy sentries?:P

I like a lot of the suggestions posted here, especially the grenades/diversions, and the melee cloaked attack.

I'd also like if enemies did not automatically know when you'd cloaked (every baddy would immediately duck into cover even if I'd engaged the cloak behind a wall, which seemed weird since they had no line of sight).

silenced weapons so you attract less attention.

Overload was good but AI hacking was very situational I found. Even then I never thought it was worth upgrading past the first level because giving my enemies shields was just annoying even if it did vanish once the hack did.
I preferred the first level so that it was pretty much an instakill on whichever robot got hacked. At later levels, the whole wave would die before the hack wore off and I'd just be waiting for the shield to go down and kill the last robot.

So a better second power for infiltrator.

I think it comes down to changing encounter design to allow for the kind of flexibility that springs to mind when you hear "infiltrator". I imagine approaching an enemy base from a distance, go into cloak, sneak in somewhere, set charges. This doesn't really work with Mass Effect 2 combat, which is too much like a simple action game; i.e. move forward until the next group of enemies is triggered and then they all pour out at you.

The biggest problem with the infiltrator is the way that cloak works. For the amount of time that one remains cloaked, the fact that it is the only power with a built-in (e.g. non-situational) drawback, which is a halting regen is a fairly potent negative feature. Now, this is not so bad for sniper infiltrators, but infiltrators are also excellent for aggressive flanking tactics. This drawback to tactical cloak "leans" the class to the sniper game play type, which should be a choice, but I feel this choice is too "suggested."

For example: the Vanguard's charge offers greater battlefield mobility than cloak, arguably. However, from a CQC style of play, it offers a major advantage in the form of a shield boost. Now, I know Vanguards are more CQC oriented by nature than infiltrators, but I feel that infiltrators should not be discouraged from aggressive flanking tactics (Shotgun + cry + infiltrator = fantastic fun!).

Now, I don't suggest that it be removed altogether. However, I feel that there should be an evolution choice to remove the shield/health regen penalty. The sniper evolution could be a very large boost in headshot damage and/or a general damage bonus and and increased time slowdown. The close quarters evolution could be a removal of the damage/shield regen at the expense of a the sniper evolution's large damage bonus.

This is all coming from someone who prefers Vanguard as well. I like CQC :P

1. Make tactical cloak more relevant, this was easily my favorite skill but a lot of the combat is corridor based which makes flanking somewhat difficult.
2. give infiltrators somesort of device to "cloud" their escape, in ME2 there was a cool-down on all powers after using one, it would have been infinately cooler if you could ambush an enemy(using cloak) then throw a flashbang to create an opportunity (to escape or take the rest of the enemies out)
3. Make cqc infiltrators more efficient.
4. Make "marking" an ability (unlikely but it would still be cool)
5. A melee stealth take-down, say you use melee on an enemy while cloaked and you snap his neck.
6. SILENCED WEAPONS..... Yes this i really need
7. I know this is not that relevant but more gear resembeling the recon hood, the most badass equipment in the game, maybe class-specific gear that you can only use if you fit the criteria, lighter armour that gives a bonus to speed at the expense of damage-resistence.
8. somesort of thermal mono-goggle that shows heat signitures.

The only thing I can think of is there definitely should be some kind of special melee move while cloak that instant kills enemies but instantly exposes you.

Other than that...return damping as a power?

I'd be fine with something like Kasumi's attack forgot the name.

As long as we are brainstorming and dreaming up wish lists, here we go:

I'd like the ability to occasionally shoot two bad guys at once if you happen to line up a sniper rifle shot with a couple targets in a straight line and fairly close together. Maybe a small chance, just some coolness that doesn't always happen, some games call it a 'proc chance'.

As for activated skills, I like the idea of a hologram to grab aggro, but isn't that almost the drone? What makes this much different than invisibility, and if stealth field and hologram are on the same cooldown like everything is, what would differentiate them so that you wouldn't just use whichever one is deemed to be superior?

Silenced weapons would be cool, but every weapon in the game fires way way past the speed of sound. Not my area of expertise, but does an object as small as the mini projectiles used in Mass Effect make any noise when breaking the sound barrier at mach 10? Probably not, just wondering out of curiosity.

Stealth melee moves would be kind of cool, but in the end I won't be excited about them much if every encounter is instant aggro and every enemy knowing where you are at. ME isn't designed for stealth kills and such to have much purpose.

For me, longer stealth so that my melee could be 'crysis 2' like. Stealth right up behind your target and grab em by the head and either jab your blade into their heart, back of the neck or some other important area of the alien body. Silent, stealthy and swift kill. Must be fatal of course, the extreme risk of being detected at such close range brings its own challenge - and rewards in the form of an instant kill.

I just recently started playing an infiltrator (started one in mass effect and have now imported to mass effect 2)and its now my favorite class.

Some improvements that would be nice would be
- the tactical cloak lasting longer
- more abilities that work with/enhance your sniper rifle
- some kind of melee attack that makes it worth sneaking up behind someone, like an electrified glove.

That's pretty much what you do with Cloak though. Cloak and shotgun blast is just as good if not better.

Instead of having the Tetris-esque mini game or matching game for locked doors/containers in the previous games you should come up with an actual mini game that relates to lock picking much like other rpgs have had in the past. Some high tech lock pick kits would be required too. Better kits plus yr skill makes things a bit easier, but it is still a twitch system - the player has to complete the mini game - no auto unlocking.

Sorry, but your missing the point.  A shotgun blast is BOOM! That's not stealth, and that's what people are talking about. Stealth - not cheap quick kills.  Ever played Splinter Cell or Hitman?  That kind of gameplay is what people are looking for more of in Inflitrator. STEALTH.

They could bring that Sniper Rifle skill form Mass Effect 1 back either be 100% crit or something like 50% extra damage in the one shot but it has to look like a laser.
