Image IPBImage IPBThis is my first time playing DA:O And I am now at Orzhammar. I can't get the dwarves help against the Blight because they are currently choosing a king. It looks like its down to two people: Bhelen and Harrowmot. Can I get a quick rundown of each canidate before I decide who to support?

Take a look through this thread. It has plenty of information, though it contains a few spoilers.

In short:
Bhelen: Utterly ruthless, but politically progressive and savvy.
Harrowmont: Upstanding, but politically traditional and weak.

Bhelen turns out better for Orzammar in the long run, even though he can appear as the "bad guy" choice. He improves things for the casteless by letting them fight against the darkspawn, which allows Orzammar to reclaim some lost thaigs. He also improves trade with the surface.

Harrowmont is the "good guy", but refuses to break from tradition and relations with the surface worsen with him in charge. He also doesn't have much longer to live after the events in Origins.

If you play as a dwarf noble, you'll get some interesting insight regarding these two, as they're both involved with the events in that origin. A dwarf noble also may have a hard time siding with Bhelen.

Ahem..."The throne belongs with House Aeducan." You can even pick dialogue options throughout the origin and in Orzammar that are complimentary of Bhelen's cunning and ruthlessness.

With regards to the OP, Harrowmont may be the better man, but Bhelen is the better king, especially if you care about the plight of the casteless.

Well, considering that Bhelen was the cause of the DN warden's exile and how Endrin preferred Harrowmont to be king instead of his own son, that's why a dwarf noble would have a hard time siding with Bhelen. He sentenced you to death and you then go and help him gain the throne?

I seem to recall the dwarf rogue warden has to betray a family member in order to choose Harrowmont, but later in the game the betrayal is forgiven.
