Playing on a brand new MacBookPro "17.

Game was crash city at first.  Downloaded/installed updates off apple support site.  Game worked better.

Just started playing and now I can't initiate dialogue with either Athenril or Meeren - after meeting loser Uncle Gamlin.

Is it the mac (video settings) or is it the software?

still no luck, been over three weeks. Any advice would be appreciated plz. Basically stuck. Can't do the the very first quest. I've reinstalled the game, ran all the mac updates, etc...
