After romancing Anders three runs in a row I decided I really ought to do a templar run and decided Fenris would be the fellow for Hawke.
Problem is, he's not playing ball. I'm in Chapter 2 now. So far I have:

* Given him Shartan's book
* Done his Questioning Beliefs
* Done A Bitter Pill
* Flirted at every opportunity
* Max friendship

But after A Bitter Pill he always leaves Hawke's mansion. Now, I've heard that he will do this on the friendship path but am not sure if it's correct as the wiki suggests you should just be able to bed him right there.
I've heard that if you leave and go back to your mansion, he should show up again, but if I do that, bl**dy Isabela is there on a booty call. Even if I send her away and leave again, when I return, Fenris isn't there. So have I screwed up some how or do I need to be more patient?

When you leave the mansion pop into the hanged man or somewhere and pop back and see Izzy. Do it again until the mansion is empty and then go and see Fenris.

Keep trying but all he says is "we should move on." And now All that Remains has started and Gamlen's in my house.

If its in your journal to go and speak to him it after he leaves your mansion it should trigger, you may have to load an earlier save and try again.

My sister buggered up trying to romance him too, he sounds like more trouble than he's worth.

Iv had a few odd things with triggers messing up, going back usually fixes it. Sometimes the dog howls at aveline instead of izzy i assumed they bugged and overlapped somewhat. Not sure. Its worth doing if you want to play out everyones romance to get the full story from them all. Iv still Merril left to do.

It looks as though I'll have to do the whole Chapter 2 again. Grrr.

Have you flirted with anyone else in chapter 2?


I know it sounds silly but if you do you can't progress with him...

I romance Fenris everytime and the one time I had trouble was when i flirted with isabela (chpt.2) for friendship points and Fenris wouldnt have flirt options after this bitter pill quest when he was at Hawke's house..

Yeah I think that's probably the problem. I have definitely steered clear of flirting with Anders and Merrill but Isabela is so easy to flirt with.

Right, well after going back to the beginning of Chapter 2 (sigh) I got the romance to work. I guess Isabela was the culprit.
